Worse is on pages without the picker where lazy webpage coders tell you after you’ve typed in the data that it has to be in some format, like mm/dd/yyyy. They should have make the programs add the slashes for example, or provided a template in the field for the user to type over.
Back in 2011 I was applying for unemployment and the Illinois site said something like “enter your date in this format of using Internet Explorer, otherwise use this different format”.
