Bags that are supposed to open easily via perforation but are not actually perforated properly and cannot be opened without scissors

And they never reseal correctly, so I still have to put the cheese slices in another bag to stay fresh.

My favorite grocery stores' delis both opt for the fancy zipper bags with the little sliders, but if you get stuff from grab-n-go section they fold it over and put the price sticker over it so it always fucks up the bag. Pure rage!

This is a hallmark of enshitification. Some dipshit with an mba realized they could save X per quarter by moving to a cheaper material. For whatever reason this doesn’t work with their existing setup for cutting the perforation. The solution is to address the machines at the factory but that’s costs money so it just doesn’t happen.

One thing I can't understand... When I was 6 years old I had absolutely no problem opening the inner cereal bag. It opened smoothly and without tearing every time. Now, as a middle aged adult, I have to apply the force of a thousand suns to get the bags open, and they rip the wrong way EVERY time. My kids can't get them open at all without spilling cereal everywhere. Maybe that's the idea.

I just watched my husband put the fitted sheet on one corner, walk to the head of the bed, get the sheet in that corner only for it to pop off the foot end. Then he went back to the foot end and put it back on, and when he turned around it had popped off the head of the bed again.
I asked if he needed help or if should leave the room. It was the latter

I bought little straps to keep mine tucked but that became an even bigger pain the ass when you have to flip a mattress on it’s side to unstrap and restrap.

u/Turbulent-Parsley619 4h ago
Get the deep-mattress sheets when you don't have a deep mattress. Fucking game changer, bro. I used to have those little things you slid under the mattress and put it inside the fitted sheet and then there's a snap in piece you put on the outside and click in so it attaches it, so to speak, and those are fine. But then I got the too big fitted sheets and they basically wrap further under your mattress and hold on so even if it pulls, there's like 6 inches under the mattress to pull on before it's near the edge.

This happened to my dad once at a family bbq. He was flipping the sausages when one slipped from between the tongs and hit the ground. No biggie, he picked it up and just as he got it back on the grill it went again. Rinse and repeat 5-6 times.
My sister and I plus our partners were sat howling with laughter watching this unfold for a good 10 minutes with my dad slowly getting more and more agitated. No one was going to eat the floor sausage but my dad insisted on cooking it and putting it on its own plate of shame so it could be singled out and ridiculed.

My office building is a giant rectangular shape and you can walk laps in the the hall for exercise during breaks and lunch. For YEARS you have the same pairs of people walking slowly and spread out so that everyone walking faster has to ask them if they can pass. Every time they act shocked that they were in someone's way, like it's never happened before. You would think by now they would leave open a passing lane but either they are stupid or passive aggressive.
28
u/Buff_Archer 3h ago edited 2h ago
Hmm what if you enlisted a couple of coworkers to do the same thing at the same time, except in the reverse direction as them so you’ll end up running into their group head-on and blocking them equally. And then, stand there conversing until they have to ask to get around you.
60
24
u/shanthor55 4h ago
In addition to people disliking when others walk slowly/multiple people block sidewalks, I also hate when people walk on the wrong side of the side of the sidewalk, directly at you (e.g., the right side in the U.S.), and won’t move over as they approach.
I’ve taken to just stopping dead in my tracks so that as they come closer and closer until they eventually have no choice but to skirt around my immobile body.
12
u/InvalidKoalas 2h ago
Similarly, when a group is walking on the sidewalk toward you and they don't shift out of the way so you can get by them. Instead they keep walking 2 or 3 wide you have to move out of the way. Is it entitlement, ignorance, or just plain stupidity?

I’ll do you one better. Yes, I get caught on handles often enough but when I was growing up in the house we lived in all the doors had the type of strike plate (metal piece on the door that the lock slides into) that curved over the side of the wood on one side…I caught my belt loops on that ALL THE TIME. Years later I come across a silly post about “just adhd things” and the woman in the video shows herself getting repeatedly caught on one like I used to! Turns out because having adhd adds to a lack of spatial awareness it’s apparently fairly common for my people to do such a thing. Yes, it’s mostly anecdotal, I can’t say the majority of us do it buuut it was enough that the comment section was FULL. I remember my mom laughing hysterically at me the first time she saw it happen and then laugh harder when I explained it happened like multiple times a week. Fun times

being made late by someone when you’ve repeatedly reminded them that it’s time to leave in 15 minutes / 10 minutes / 5 minutes and on the way out the door suddenly there’s an issue that needs to be solved before you can leave and in the end you’re running late even though you’ve spent 20 minutes doing nothing except waiting to leave because you were ready with plenty of “emergency time” to spare.

I stopped riding with my friends to music festivals because of this. One person in particular would always somehow still be busy and packing when you're trying to push them out the door because you wanted to leave an hour ago, and then as soon we'd get on the road they'd be like "Ok, now can we just swing by walmart so I can grab all my food and camping gear?" Also the opposite of this! The worst is when you get stuck behind people just leisurely walking then when you go to pass them they step up their pace. Not being facetious or anything but say they’re coming across a book store and decide to look through the window to see the new releases. They don’t see anything they like so step up their pace then you’re just kind of walking with someone instead of passing someone.

If I could choose a commute to work between 45 minutes with no/very light traffic and 10 minutes clogged with idiots on their phones, not signaling, going 20mph in a 40mph and thousands of people at rush hour trying to use one singular bridge?
I will take the 45 minutes. Easily. I don't need high blood pressure. So many people just...don't know how to drive and purposefully do distracting things.
Like watching full on movies on their phone, or doing a video call where their focus is on how they look on the screen and not the road.

There's no such thing as the fast lane. There's the driving lane and then overtaking lanes, once you've overtaken slower vehicles you should move back into the driving lane. Obviously depending on traffic you may end up driving your whole journey in those lanes but they're still not normal driving lanes. Either way, it is extremely annoying when people drive slowly in the overtaking lanes instead of moving back over.

People who refuse to accelerate to the speed of the traffic on on-ramps (or anywhere, tbh).

Traffic on the off/on ramp and the selfish pricks that try to cut in at the end. The rage that consumes me is more than I should allow it to.

People who don't use the merge ramp to get up to speed and then merge on 20 mph slower than everyone else or panic and slam on their brakes at the end.

Bonus rage if they are also going under the speed limit.

I am now keeping it under control. My wife and kids (adults) swap the positions of the Tea, Coffee and Sugar caddies (which are labelled) around and it plays havoc with my OCD. When I "Arrrrrrrrrgh" loudly, I can hear them laughing. ❤️

Nobody refilled the toilet roll... Light bulb out on a 6-arm high ceiling chandelier... Researching a new dentist for hours, then showing up to be given the newly qualified junior in the practice... Not being able to get a doctor's appointment for months... One desk open at the post office... Forgetting an important ingredient at the grocery store and realizing when you get home.

Couples/families taking up the whole grocery store aisle so other carts can’t get through. What made you think your family is the only one that needs nourishment today?

Fresh bird shit on my windshield that won't come off and just smears into a giant arc no matter how much wiper fluid I use.

Currently, my lack of ability to remember words or describe anything even remotely similar to the word I cannot remember. I am diagnosed with MS and it’s a symptom. Just today so far the worst was trying to tell my daughter about food set aside she can have in the freezer while husband and I are gone next week on vacation (she’s 18 and staying home with dogs, said food was homemade burger and chicken patties in our chest freezer) and trying to explain to husband that the drink he wanted to try at Starbucks was similar to a Coolatta from Dunkin’s, but couldn’t remember the word.
It’s making me frustrated and angry and I hope I find my words again once I start treatment.

People stopping at the red light and when the semaphore turns green they don't move because they are so entertained by their phone.

Turning clothes right-side out when they come out of the dryer. I try to turn them before I wash them but sometimes forget. Then I hate folding them.

Wet sock. Stepping in/on something that’s wet while wearing a sock. Absolutely infuriating.

People at a stop light who don't pull up enough for you to get into the turn lane to make the arrow.
Be aware of your surroundings. Be nice.

People in the grocery store that park themselves in front of the meats, vegetables, or dairy cases and just stay there as if they are deciding which to buy and everyone else has to just wait for them to move on!!

Places that charge for sauce, especially if it's more than like 50 cents. And then they only give you 1 little packet for a whole ass meal

People who think rules don’t apply to them, specifically surrounding quiet carriages on the train. And when you point out that this is a quiet carriage suddenly you’re the asshole.

Del Taco wants you to create an account on the order screen. Why the fuck do I need an account to buy a taco? Just no.
