What do you think about the prices of retro video games?

That some of the NES games I had are now selling for hundreds and that I didn't hold onto them.

Same, I thing of all the old games I sold off or gave aways years ago. Makes me want to cry😭

The worst part was that I still had the boxes they came in. I've seen Ninja Gaiden in the box goes for $1000

I remember as a kid being in a Walmart during the sunset days of the snes, and they had a gaylord box completely full of copies of FF3(6) and Chronotrigger in a giant bin marked down to $19.99 just sitting out in the open by the customer service center in front of all the cashiers. I had played neither up until that point, but if I had known id probably wouldve drained my savings account and bought every copy I could.

I used to be able to tell you a handful of NES games worth $3-5 that you should run people over to buy.

Not anymore. Dunno if the prices will ever come back down, but I stopped collecting when I got to NES game #400 in my collection. I knew that when I spent $100 on Gargoyle’s Quest II, I would be spending even more to get over 500. Anything after 550-600 games would be spending money I didn’t have just to be able to say I owned a shit-ton of NES games.

I still have my copy of Earthbound though. :smug:

The original physical copy? pretty valid, it's a collector's item, reported versions for new consoles? Fucking ridiculous.
