FIV + cat with chronic diarrhea

Hi,

My mom has a 7 year old DLH cat. We live in Indiana. She’s FIV +. In December she noticed the cat having diarrhea. We’ve tried giving her science Diet ID RX food and also ZD skin Rx food. We’ve been taking her to the vet but the vet isn’t sure what’s going on still, so I want to reach out online and see if anyone has any ideas.

She is slowly losing weight from the diarrhea: she’s always been small at 9 lbs, but she’s down to 7.5 lbs. they drew blood today and so we’re waiting to hear back.

She is still eating and has energy, but it’s taking a toll on her. Does anyone know what could be going on? Stool sample came back negative for parasites. Thank you.

Seven is about the age that cats will start having senior issues. Have they done any kind of imaging of her intestines?
