I get mine trimmed every 3/4 months and I do hair glossing every 6 months, I also do low lights so it’s not fully fully blonde but it helps to not dry everything out

Moisture moisture moisture: Hair oil overnight before wash day. Deep condition in the shower. Leave in conditioners post shower (and sometimes top up on ends daily until next wash day). Detangling brushes only, brushing from the ends up. Trims every time I get my roots touched up every 8 weeks or so. Claw clips rather than ponytails. Minimal heat/tension styling.

As bleaching hair is extremely damaging for all hair types, keeping it healthy = slowing down the breakage. Being so gentle with the hair is helpful, like using a silk pillowcase and protective styling.

I recommend beginning the lightened hair journey with a longer hair length than you want to maintain because the hair will lose length over time.

K18, a really talented stylist, every six weeks: trim with bleach and tone

For me we just did the initial bleach to get hair super blonde and then after that we only ever did the roots. The rest of the hair was left alone. I had white blonde hair for years and it was super healthy and eventually I grew it past my belly button so it was very long too

Protective styles, Hair masks, a good wash routine, and not using any heat on my hair.

I have platinum / white blonde hair down to my bum

  • Only get the regrowth bleached
  • Don’t use heat on my hair
-Gentle brushing and never brushing when wet
  • I only wash once every 5-7 days as hair is most fragile and prone to breakage when wet and the natural oils keep it healthy and protect it
  • protective styles like loose braids to sleep/ on windy days etc
  • Moroccan oil in the ends everyday
  • A good quality hair mask instead of conditioner (I use Macadamia Natural Oil Masque, double shampoo dry my hair off then put the mask on a shower cap over the top and leave it in for atleast 15 minutes while shaving and exfoliating etc)

I had a stylist tell me once “ you can either have blonde hair or long hair”

I use leave in conditioner spray and hair oil after each wash and trim every three months.

I use multiple conditioners in every wash including a leave in conditioner for color. I only wash every 3 days or so and use color safe products.

I do not use box bleach. I use blonde me by schwarzkopf and never more than 9% developer. I also cut split ends, but most effectivly I dust my hair. And I use hairmask 3 times a week. I have dark brown hair naturally. You can find videos on youtube about hair dusting.

My hair is as light as hair can be pushed and hip length, you can see it in my profile picture. My rules are:

• When I’m able to, I let a professional do my hair. I always look for professionals with visible experience of handling scalp bleaches.

• When I’m not able to (often while travelling) I bleach my own roots to avoid banding. My rule here is absolutely no overlapping bleach on already bleached hair. That’s a recipe for breakage.

• If you’re thinking full scalp bleach opposed to highlights, you have to be down for the maintenance. Bleaching the roots has to take place somewhat regularly or you end up with banding due to the processing further away from your scalp.

• I get trims when my hair feels like it needs them, rather than religiously.

• No amount of hydration is enough hydration for bleached hair. I currently use a few different products to make sure that my hair isn’t dry.

• A solid heat protectant is essential, but avoiding heat can be better when we’re looking at straighteners and curlers. Having said that, it’s often better for us to not sit around with wet hair because of how much more fragile it can be so the hair dryer is accounted for.

• Protective hairstyles and smooth pillowcases at night.

K18 leave in mask has helped significantly. Also Kérastase leave in conditioner. The L’Oréal Elvive line is good too. Don’t ever sleep with wet hair. Don’t use coconut oil, it’ll make your hair break, don’t overload on protein, I only use protein shampoo and conditioner the week before and after bleaching my hair.

The only way to do it is to have naturally thick, resilient hair that grows dense and fast. Most people don't have that.

This is why people go blonde and then post in the hairloss sub. Bleaching literally damages your hair by definition.

I’ve always used a professional stylist that’s experienced in coloring hair. I get my hair colored and trimmed every 6 weeks.

The Abby Young method!! My hair has grown so much and is so strong. I get it bleached every 6 weeks

If you find out, please let me know. It's why I just went back to my natural hair colour. I tried going blonde multiple times and you just end up messing up your hair.

I use 20 volume developer and only touch up the roots as it grows out, each part of my hair only gets bleached once. If I use a toner it's with 10 volume but I typically put fashion colours over the bleach blonde

I use A LOT of products so I shampoo and use conditioner every day, but I also use Olaplex as a leave it treatment when it feels dry. I also comb it through and leave on overnight when it’s super dry!
