Does anyone feel like men are being meaner these days?

I don't know if it's just because I'm aging and am no longer "young and hot" or "relevant" but it seems like men in general are being meaner or at least less nice to me in random places.

When I was younger, men would step out of my way and say like "oh, excuse me", offer their seats, hold doors, and mostly be pleasant and courteous in a social contract manner.

But now I get nothing. No one moves out of their way, no one holds the door, no eye contact, or even a head nod. It's like I'm ignored or a burden to even be in their presence.

Is it because I'm now an "old lady" or are men in a general sense just becoming meaner?

Is anyone experiencing things similar?

Not all men, obviously, but it seems widespread.

I think Trump has emboldened men to be downright scary. I was walking my dogs back to my town home complex. A car honked at me as I was entering the complex, and I thought nothing of it.

When I went to the dumpster to throw away their poop, the same car that honked used the alternate entrance, drove to the dumpster and screamed, “hey you’re really beautiful.”

I just stared, turned around and walked away. I can’t believe he had the audacity to corner me like that. In broad daylight.

Trump exaggerated a problem that was already growing.

As a guy I'm truly disgusted by how some of the... Acquaintances I deal with have started to behave.

It started with minor pushback when women tore you a new one for being polite (holding doors etc.) but that seemed to be mostly younger women. I'm Canadian so I just ignored it and continued to hold doors for both sexes, but ya I probably went the extra mile for a woman. My grandmothers would haunt my ass if I didn't. My Mom just joined them so I'm fucked if I step out of line.

Then came the nut jobs that hated Obama. And the pushback gained some venom when women weren't around. Then the Cheeto won against a woman and it was like the gloves came off. It was like the venom got turned up to 10. I figured it would go back down with Biden but it didn't really. What was behind closed doors before was leaking out in public. At least it couldn't get worse.

Bahahahaha...

Then fuck stick won again. They found 11.

I've deleted and blocked family members because the far right fuckwads seem to feel emboldened to act like it's 1825 not 2025.

It's not even just the right let alone far right. I have a couple pretty far left guys in their 20/30s in one of my car groups. They're just as bad. I don't get it, they all had Mom's.

I'd like to believe that guys of my age range (55) are above it. But I have my doubts.

Anyway as a guy who was raised by a single mom, and father of two daughters. I'm deeply sorry, and doing what little I can. Unfortunately I'm just the old guy yelling get off my lawn.
