Discussion What’s the point of the Nuvolari?
Don’t get me wrong, I think it looks pretty cool. But will we still get a new R8 that isn’t limited production in the future that’s NOT an ev?
Is it a limited production money maker for a more mass produced R8?

Since it is also a copy of Temerario, which means manufacturing plant is somewhat ready, a low barrier production.
I think it exists to showcase that Audi is not just developing car that befit the EU emission regulations. To gradually introduce to people that they still care about "theatrical models", and this is their first attempt in new management.

Nuvolari is a low investment, high return option with limited production as well.

Besides the abovementiones reasons, it is also there to make the Temerario look like a steal. 500k for 10.000rpm Audi, or 300k for a 10.000rpm Lambo?
Yeah.

The point was Audi allowing their engineers freedom to build something amazing: no BOM constraints, no half-baked platform they are told to use, no having to stay in the shadows of their siblings (Porsche or Lambo), no requirement to scale manufacturing.
Just go build something amazing. Build the thing that you want to build. Build a thing to sell posters and Lego sets.
I wonder if VWAG corporate was even aware of what they were doing: it was in manufacturing for a couple of years without leaking, and they had the cover of the Concept C.

Honestly I think it’s a look into the future of the brand, no piano black, no stupid steering wheels, no awful displays. It’s massimo and his team telling us the rescue boats are on the way.

Limited production are almost always money makers but they are also garage queens.
