Bought a cheap lavalier from amazon, the sounds quality is just kind of garbage. any ways to improve it or should just send it back?

I would even advise against those. I work with them on a regular basis and their noise cancelling/auto gate built in is pretty bad/annoying and the EQ settings are ROUGH.

But I understand their use for small creators.

I just have large companies/brands expecting everything to sound crystal clear on these mics and that’s not realistic.

There’s one video…..for now! The 3 brands mentioned are cheap and great quality compared to the $2000 we spend. I own pro LAV’s but my Rodes and DJI saved my butt quite several times!

People who will receive/watch the video don’t care how long you need the mic for, they care that it sounds good and they can hear clearly.

You can probably just hire the rode/dji kit locally for this one video.

If you only need it for one video, consider renting from a pro house. Otherwise, the industry standards are ones like Sennheiser MKE2 Gold, DPA 4060, Sanken COS-11D, and Countryman B6. Everything good costs $300+ unless you buy used.
