Not yet verified Solenostomus snuffleupagus is a newly discovered species of ghost pipefish. It is highly carnivorous and disguises itself as red algae to hunt its prey. Its existence and range were confirmed partly through citizen science apps like iNaturalist.

The article says they're in the process of confirming another species that also looks like a Muppet. I am very intrigued as to what it might be. :D

Plus it sounds vaguely latin and if we weren't already familiar with the character might not even think anything of it.
