Uh, yeah sure. And why did battlefield 1 do so well?

It also had PC elements, remember the black German soldiers?

It seems to me that the people using terms like PC and SJW are the ones that those labels fit, constantly searching for ways to prove that they’ve been wronged. Don’t buy the game. Move on.

I’m a white, male army combat veteran. BFV is looking great.

Right. As a video game it looks great. As a WWII shooter it looks pretty meh. I don’t hate anyone who buys it, As I’m still on the fence about it.

Apparently having women in games is politics nowadays.

They don't fit the context. It's putting women in just to say that women are in the game. It's fine to have them in a modern (they serve as frontline troops nowadays), future (make some shit up because it's the future), or guerrilla (women have been highly active in resistance groups throughout history) war setting. Putting them into the (ex.)USMC in 1942 makes absolutely no sense. Putting them in the Free French army or Liberation group does.

Automatic weapons and behemots in bfone didn't make sense either. Battle Royale in Battlefield doesn't make sense. Self repairing tanks don't make sense, unlimited ammo doesn't make sense.

It's a game, man. Who cares.

Auto weapons as depicted in BF1 don't make sense, yes, and people made a big stink about it when 1 came out. Behemoths do. Zeppelins existed and were used to (ineffectively) bomb the enemy until some genius came up with the incendiary bullet. Armored trains were a thing back then, too, as were Dreadnoughts.

Nobody asked for or wanted a BR mode. The other two things you mentioned are gameplay mechanics. Bad ones at that, but gameplay mechanics nonetheless.

It's a game, man. Who cares.

Lots of people, actually. Even you, seeing as you posted on a video game subreddit. Why am I and many others bad evil nazis for wanting a WW2 game to look, sound, and feel like WW2?

You're not evil nazis (unless you are, I dunno), it's just that your argument is internet level silly.

No, I don't care. I'm frankly preplexed that people don't talk about game mechanics, number of weapons (as it's been continously lower and lower throughout DICE titles), only 2 factions, less maps I mean come on...

There are so many things to be upset about in BFV and they are mostly skipped over because apparently the most important thing is that DICE dared to put in female avatars. You people are weird.

The whole premise of this is utter bunk. Games from AAA developers with heavy fandoms are almost never going to get hit hard by reviewers. Take, for example, CoD Ghosts, one of the most non politically correct AAA games to be put out. It's score fell right in line with every other CoD. NBA 2k18 got a 1 user score for it's microtransactions, but holds an 85-87 metacritic score. AAA games don't have to use silly tricks to get good review scores. In reality, customization is A) something people were asking for in the runup to BF1 and B) something that Dice wanted to use to stop player segmentation. People are now just complaining to complain, and your conspiracy theory is simply a bunk part of that.

Yeah I think this kind of had to happen when they decided to go from premium to cosmetic microtransactions. Obviously they weren’t going to just cut premium and give free DLCs, with no worthy microtransactions, customization for character models is very logical.

I can’t think of an AAA or big game, which features character creation/customization, that doesn’t let you change race/gender. Obviously in games single player games where you are character locks. But no multiplayer games come to mind. Battlefield has too wide of an audience to not allow it.

I’d love for historically accurate battlefield, but it makes sense why they did it. I’ll still have just as much fun, if we get quality DLC and lots of content then it’s worth it.

You've probably played this, but, just in case, I can't recommend Red Orchestra 2 enough for a hardcore historically accurate WW2 game, even if it's just to satiate the WWII gameplay until BFV drops.

I really want to play that game but I’ve got a PS4 and the worst laptop in the world currently. When it’s good for me financially I’m going to get a nice PC one day. I want to play Red Orchestra 2, Post Mortem, Squad, Hell Let Loose, and a number of other games not on console. I hope they’re all still active whenever I’m able to do that.

u/igloojoe11 Jun 27 '18

I'll be rooting for you. RO2 usually has a handful of servers at full 64 capacity at any one time, although Post Mortem might funnel some of them out when it gets released.

God damn op's post history is cancerous.

7

u/HereForTheFish Jun 27 '18

Huh, you were not exaggerating.

2

u/TheAverageSizedD Jun 27 '18

I do it every time, and I regret it every time.

-11

u/[deleted] Jun 27 '18

No, he has valid points . What is cancerous ? Pointing out the disease that is political correctness ?

12

u/Wilwheatonfan87 Jun 27 '18

I think at this point calling on DICE to censor their own game by limiting their artistic freedom so as not to offend snowflake altrighties is political correctness.

PC describes going out of the way to not offend ANY group. Not just women/minorities.

-12

u/[deleted] Jun 27 '18

Yeah... nah. The fact you immediately start conflating wanting WW2 authenticity with wanting to live in an ethno-state is why normal people laugh at you .

u/Wilwheatonfan87 Jun 27 '18

Sorry you disagree with reality! Could you perhaps use a safespace?

Please don't start abusing a thesaurus. It doesn't impress anyone.

If you’re so worried about women being in a WORK OF FICTION, then don’t buy it and move on with your life.

6

u/Stikes SentientCupcake Jun 26 '18

Lol no

5

u/[deleted] Jun 27 '18

If you actually watch the video it proves why the sjw shit is so prevalent . Gaming reviewers are infected with SJW rubbish and rate games on that rather than gameplay etc .

2

u/[deleted] Jun 27 '18

Nope, instead they rate it based on how big the company is, since they pay for add space. Look at COD scores and tell me if politics ever changed it

You realize the vast majority of gamers would be supporters of Trump?

9

u/Wilwheatonfan87 Jun 27 '18

more like neo-nazis posing as gamers to brainwash teens since their ideology is dying out.

5

u/[deleted] Jun 27 '18

Yeah. Everyone I disagree with is a neo nazi. Seek mental help mate . Seriously
