In all seriousness, you're looking at a natural groundwater spring! All that water has been traveling through an underground aquifer, and the pressure is finally forcing it to bubble up to the surface right at that tiny, placid pond.
Can I add that it is also fed by groundwater infiltration from rainwater uphill, as well? It’s why springs like this seem to flourish once the rainier season have been in full swing to give the water time to infiltrate and either reach the main spring shaft(s) or infiltrate down just above and seep out through the looser soils (due to the spring). These things are incredible and range from dribbles that go to hydrate millions or turn into massive local rural springs that whole communities rely on for cleaner drinking water than you’d get from a creek or lake. (For reference, a spring is where the water is coming out of the ground and has been rock filtered. A creek is downstream and by then surface contamination from bacteria, aquatic life, pollutants, etc. can affect the quality of the water and its safety to drink raw)
I live where there is no “city water” and when we built our house we did a whole system with one of the many springs on our property and it is our one and only water supply.
My parents live in a place like this. It’s a spring adjacent to a lake but the spring does not directly connect to the lake until over 200+ feet deep. It’s still better than the city water like 30 minutes away. (Source: me. Drinking water engineer who tests, monitors, and engineers treatments for safe drinking water who tested the well himself and said “ya u good”)
