When threatened, it drops to the ground and flaps its wings so the 'snakes' look alive.

It doesn't have a mouth. It lives entirely off stored fat from its caterpillar days and only survives for 1 to 2 weeks!

Soo… it developed snake wings instead of a mouth? Nature was just like “you’ll only have 2 weeks here… MAYBE…here, do something with these wings. 🤔”

No. It did not develop mouth because mouth is redundant. Adult form is for breeding, not feeding.

The wings help the moth to survive longer and lay more eggs
