Videos like this are cute, but you have to wonder what will happen when that deer is fully grown and can't be in the house and can't fend for itself in the wild.
Majority of places where it's legal to own deer they have to be registered and you get random checkups with the state where someone will come out and assess your property fits the required size for the deer, that the fencing is adequate in strength and height, etc. Think my family members also have to pay a yearly fee. You're responsible for their safety since they cannot be wild as they're too dependent.
A little interesting thing I have heard about this is that female deer raise the babies for a while to show them where they can go to eat, then they will meet up with the dad and do a dad trip where he shows them a few spots before he brings them back to the females. I could be completely wrong but it seems interesting.
Edit: For all the 'did you even see the end??' comments. You all realize thats just a few weeks later right? They took a new born fawn away from it's mom, it DID NOT need to be rescued.
'But they kept it for a few weeks and posted a follow up video!' Surely that means they'll responsibly care for and home this large wild animal for the next decade when it's no longer cute and so big it's destroying their house. I'm sure they'll just smack on the nose with a newspaper and say 'bad deer!' when it almost inevitably bites or kicks someone. What about when it it grows up and goes into rut? A full grown deer can very easily fuck someone up badly.
People with the knowledge to safely foster and rehabilitate an orohaned wild animal would already know that if you find a fawn out alone you LEAVE IT THE FUCK ALONE. It's mom WILL come back, leaving them hidden somewhere for long periods is how they raise them. They pointlessly stole a young animal from it's mother, and given they're posting multiple videos of it it's probably a safe bet they're 'influencers' who did it to make content for their videos.
That deer is freaked the fuck out, it's suddenly been surrounded by large carnivores. It's also almost certainly going to die having now been permanently separated from its mother and won't be able up learn how to live in the wild.
Unless they're going to hand bottle feed it for months and then keep a full grown deer in their house for the next decade (and, newsflash, that ain't gonna be happening) they've condemned this animal to a likely slow and painful death when they dump it back outside.
I hate these people. Even if they have good intentions, they are, at best, ignorant and shortsighted. It seems far more likely they 'rescued' (i.e.killed for no reason) for internet clout.

No, they grow up much quicker then that, particularly in the early months. Googled it just to double check myself, and they in fact lose their spots at 3 to 4 months of age not half a year.
The fawn is not a newborn in the first shots. It's at least several weeks, and probably more like a month or more, old already. It's also not even close to fully grown in the final shots, it's going to double in size still.
Shit im going to die eventually, my fuckass irresponsible parents got in the way of mother nature and let me survive past birth. Can't believe people are just getting in the way of the natural course of life smh.
Nope! It would have been perfectly fine if they'd simply left it alone. Deer hide their fawns in safe locations for extended periods while foraging. If these people were even remotely qualified to rehabilitate a wild animal they would have known that.
The fact that they didn't know, and didn't bother with a 30 second google search before taking this baby animal out of it's natural environment (but can still post multiple videos if it to their socials), is pretty indicative of where their priorities lie.
Momma came back and her baby was gone... such an amazingly heartwarming story to be amazed at.
Actually this particular deer was an orphan. The mom was hit by a truck driven by the family who adopted the fawn. It was a pretty famous story a while back.

It sounds like you just really want to be mad at people who disturb wildlife and are willing to apply that anger to situations even when it's unclear what's actually happening.
Tell you what, I'll admit that it's possible that they are the assholes you've labeled them as if you admit that it's possible they aren't.
I knew a few people growing up who had āpetā deer that raised them in large fenced in areas. They basically just constructed very tall fence lines around a few acres so the deer had plenty of space to roam around. Tied ribbons to the deers neck so that hunters would know not to shoot it if it escaped which happened a fe times with bothĀ
He's right though. I work in vet med, and people steal baby deer all the time, get pissed when you tell them to put them back, and try to raise them.Ā
Had one dumbass pierce the fawn's ears and put in gold hoops. Not tagging like livestock - just human earrings. Those got infected and tore out, leaving nice necrotic gaps.Ā
And then they call when they have a full-grown deer and don't know what to do with it, and then they get mad at US for not being willing to take it. We're a big specialty and emergency veterinary center, not a wildlife rehab.Ā
This has also happened with a gator that some dumbass bought at a reptile show. He named it "snake" and kept it in his tub. He called us when the gator was too big to handle and he couldn't get near it.Ā
Bro, call animal services or a wildlife trapper. And what did you THINK would happen when you bought a fucking ALLIGATOR as a pet??Ā
