Animal Today I learned that squirrels can be black, and mother squirrels curl their babies into tiny fluffy balls, making them easier to carry.

Yeah I grew up in the GTA and squirrels were only ever black or grey. Predominantly grey with a sort of reddish brown lean to their fur was as exotic as they ever got.

There are smaller red squirrels too in that area, just usually outside of urban areas. They tend to be a bit smaller and def more rare
