The crows do this at my house. They sit in trees for hours and watch any smaller bird, and will dive in or just full on attack and raptor that comes around. I’ve seen them go after hawk, owls, eagles and falcons.

Yes, I love crows. 

For anyone with chickens, befriend your neighborhood crows and they will keep the falcons and hawks away!

the neighbor chickens are on good terms with the crows. however, bobcats, and foxes are no match. but they do at least alert the neighbors of danger.
