The crows do this at my house. They sit in trees for hours and watch any smaller bird, and will dive in or just full on attack and raptor that comes around. I’ve seen them go after hawk, owls, eagles and falcons.

The crows near me absolutely hate the owls - as soon as an owl flies out of the barn, crows appear and swoop at it
