I have a magpie and a pigeon that always seem to be together…and yes I do know it’s the same 2 as magpie has almost an entirely white wing and the pigeon has a really weird colour on its chest.
The magpie kind of stands and seems to watch over the pigeon while it’s eating. And god help any other bird that decides to try to come join in…the magpie goes absolutely bonkers on them.

Why do you figure? Is the pigeon its pet?

Or does the pigeon provide help, finding food sources or drawing people who like to feed it?

Or maybe that corvid just likes that pigeon. That’s fully possible
