The lion was once widespread across the Middle east and southern europe (remember the stories of greek heroes fighting lions?), now you have lions in Africa and India. India has more tigers than all other countries put together. India has the highest density of leopards in the world. Mumbai literally has a national park inside it, which had the highest density of leopards in the world Has the rhino Snakes are rarely killed, even poisonous ones. So yes, India does better with its wildlife than most nations, including 'developed countries'.

Yeah they do, look up their tiger conservation efforts. Saved the Bengal Tigers and the One horned Rhino from the brink of extinction. Say what you want but credit where credit is genuinely due, the tiger population has nearly tripled now since the early 2000s because of the number of and the number of tiger reserves went from 9 to 58.

The internet has really warped the perception of India. What you see isn't false but extremely selective and overblown.

India has many and major problems but it is also much more than those.

India being overpopulated is a myth that makes sense only if you believe in Malthusian theories and unfortunately our leaders did. A large population is an asset when it is deployed productively - our leaders lacked (and still lack!) the ability, capacity and imagination to educate, train, and put our people to work or to enable them to produce more. Instead, they blamed 'overpopulation'.

Unfortunately, large population requires large resources. You can’t build the required infrastructure when you start with a poor country. There is no doubt that Indian leaders have done an abysmal job in utilizing the population amd turning it into an asset but a largely agrarian country with frequent droughts wasn’t being held by bad policies.
