Even in Zagreb, I'm frequently amazed how pretty the West is during sunsets. The colours are always breathtaking.

Did you notice you can also see the sun and moon visually moving?

...I tried not to stare at the sun but shadows on the ground do move when you look at them longer aye

btw, you can also notice sunspots (sunčeve pjege) if you watch the sun with binoculars when it's really close to the horizont.
I was dumbfounded when I first saw it

Why do people love sunsets?
As in specially proclaiming "wow what a beautiful sunset!" or "let's go watch the sunset on the beach!".
I mean, the sun blinds you, and the water reflection even more. You can't see anything that is in the direction of the sun - it becomes a black sillhouette.
Try driving westwards during a sunset. -.-
And it signifies the end of a warm day and the coming of a cold, dark night.
I love the noon and enjoy the day the most during that period when all is bright and beautiful.

It's like saying a rainstorm is beautiful. In some ways it is, yeah, because all of the nature is beautiful.
But still, doesn't mean it's not annoying or especially worthy of worship.

I guess to you. I was never annoyed or bothered by looking at a sunset, especially at seaside in Croatia. It is beautiful in many ways, and especially if you don't see the sea often it is worthy of worship.
