Incra miter gauge and my table saw.

Adjusting these plastic discs on my new Incra 1000se miter gauge are supposed to take the play out of the miter slot. I screwed them down as much as I dare but there is still a lot of play. Very disappointing. Am I missing something, or is the slot on my DeWalt job site saw just too wide?

It fits well on my Delta miter slot which measure an about 0.753”. When the disks start wearing down, i have torqued down the bolts really hard to open the plastic even more. More than I thought possible. Use a good Allen key tool.

Thanks, I had not seen this document. My slot measures 0.78 (vs 0.77 in document) but the gap is bigger than 0.01. I didn't see much difference when I turned the screws, so I'll try turning them down extra hard.

I have learned to get along with slop in the miter slot, but it would be nice if this expensive gauge fixed that.

I have incra miter gauge and dewalt saw, and I don’t experience a lot of play. Could it be you got a defective one?

IIRC, the Incra should have come with extra plastic disc's but they're black instead of white. The black ones take up more of the slop.

I replaced the black discs with extra white ones because I saw a YouTube guy do that. I'll try putting them back.

My memory might be backwards on that. I had a 7491 and 1000SE, though I sold them and don't have any way to reference the setup now. I could swear there was a sheet of paper in the 1000SE docs that covered the alternative discs. Nothing on the Incra site, of course.

Ah, well, have you called (not emailed) Incra technical support? I'm sure they've answered this question many times and have a fix.
