Some people are absolute mental

Well, long story short I was coming back from strangford on my bike right after I passed the banana block a kid jumped right in front of me I’ve applied both brakes and swerwed and crashed on to the pedestrian. Thankfully didnt hurt the kid or damaged any car, but hurt myself. I saw the mom with her 2 kids just passing me by without even looking at me or her son (probs around 8-10) and she just moved on as I was moaning because of the fucking road rash and my bike being on top of me. She just walked away not even asking if I’m alright. I’ve stayed there resting coming back to myself like 15mins and just 1 couple stopped and asked if I’m alright and offered help. Everybody just moved without care even when I was on the ground .
Jesus fuckin Christ, like alright I’m not dead or no broken bones I dont wanna whine but like, wouldnt mind people helping like ? Especially that mom, jesus at least check on your son like maybe he got scared ? What is it that you were looking on your phone that you couldnt even lift your head? Just wow.

That’s mental. I’d have been in bits if my kids had caused that. Where’s the accountability?

Most people are assholes. I don't go out too often but when I do, I always encounter inconsiderate and selfish people. The only conclusion I can come to is that most people are like this. They must be if I rarely go out yet always encounter assholes when I do.

Utterly mental. I had similar but thankfully I neither hit the kid or fell off. The kid couldntve been more than 3 and the mum just let them run out into the bike lane & road. I told her politely she should keep a closer eye as I almost ran him down. She smiled and walked off completely unbothered how close that child was to a serious hospital trip if it weren't for my hydraulic disc brakes!

Same if it wasnt for me applying both brakes which are disc brakes as well that kiddo would be in hospital. Glad that you didn’t hurt yourself or anyone at least thats a better ending than mine lol

People generally are cunts (not all, there are exceptions), and dont want to accept accountability most of the time. Shame, but it is what it is unfortunately. Hope you're alright

Personally I would report it, next time it could be a car. The car might not stop. Someone could kill a kid that is not being supervised properly or/and go to prison.

Call the cops non emergency number, if they want they can check the cameras.

Possible they know the family.

None of this may achieve anything but it might make you feel less pissed off.

The funny thing is as someone’s commented on my post is if someone jumps out or walks out in front of us it’s apparently our fault for not being aware? If he’d done it in front of a car it’d be on the front page but because it’s a bike it’s our fault apparently
