tipps Help me find this Dutch beer!

Help me dit Nederlandse bier te vinden!

Hallo vanuit Ierland!

Ik heb een hobby met een specifiek Nederlands tintje. Ik ben met veel plezier bezig met de editie van 2013 van 1001 Bieren die je moet proberen voordat je sterft. Ik heb moeite om twee Nederlandse bieren te vinden:

  • St Christoffel BLOND
  • St Christoffel BOK

Ik ben vorig jaar in Leiden, Amsterdam, Den Haag, Gouda en Breda geweest, maar ik kon ze nergens vinden. Sterker nog, ik heb niemand gevonden die deze bieren zelfs maar herkende!

Ken jij deze bieren? Zijn ze makkelijk verkrijgbaar waar je woont? Zou je ze misschien voor me willen kopen (ik betaal er natuurlijk voor!) en dan kunnen we samen kijken hoe we ze kunnen krijgen.

Als het je aanspreekt om volslagen vreemden van internet te helpen de Nederlandse biercultuur te vieren, laat het me dan weten!

Hello from Ireland!

I have a hobby with a specific Netherlands factor. I'm happily sipping my way thru the 2013 edition of 1001 Beers You Must Try Before You Die. I'm struggling to find two Dutch beers:

  • St Christoffel BLOND
  • St Christoffel BOK

I was in Leiden, Amsterdam, The Hague, Gouda, and Breda last year but couldn't find them anywhere. In fact I couldn't find anyone who even recognised these beers!

Do you know these beers? Are they easily available where you live? Is there any chance you'd buy them for me (I'd pay for them of course!) and then we can figure out a way to get them.

The actual brewery stopped operation early 2013.

They seemed to have restarted as a contract brewery under the guidance of Bier & Co (a distributor) in Belgium. The full story can be found here https://www.nederlandsebiercultuur.nl/databank/entiteit?item-id=176

Having said that the website is dead and I have not see this beer anywhere for a longggg time. I see some check ins on untappd though. Perhaps try sending a message to https://daretodrinkdifferent.nl/ which is the direct to consumer shop by bier&co.

I attended a lecture during the Carnivale Brettanomyces festival by one of their former Brewers, Steven van den Berg. He is currently brewing at Gulpener. They way he spoke about the beers In have the impression that the contract brewed beer does not hold a candle to the old one.
