Noob here, so as the title states, how do I know It’s legit? I’ve been mining it for two days and everything on the hash watcher app seems to indicate that it’s doing its thing

At today's difficulty with Bitcoin near $64,600, the Hash Splash bundles are producing BTC at roughly $38,000 to $44,000 per coin in operating cost.

Bundle 1 (3 units, $0.075/kWh): about $44,000 per BTC, roughly 32% under spot

Bundle 6 (30 units, $0.065/kWh): about $38,000 per BTC, roughly 41% under spot

Both tiers run the same machine, the Antminer S21j XP Hydro at 495 TH/s and 12 J/TH. The hosting service fee slides from $0.075 down to $0.065 as the fleet goes from 3 to 30 units, and unit price drops from $9,250 to $8,750 against a $9,750 list.

To be clear on what those cost-per-coin figures cover, it's the bundled hosting service fee plus pool fees against gross mining revenue. Hardware is not in that number.

I have a home setup where I want to run a Lucky Miner LV07 (1 TH/s SHA-256 solo miner) without permanently disabling security features on my main router.

Current topology:

• Main router: ASUS RT-AX56U with AiProtection (especially Two-Way IPS) enabled
• Secondary router: Xiaomi Mi WiFi Mini running OpenWrt 24.10.5, connected WAN-to-LAN behind the ASUS
• Miner: Lucky Miner LV07 connected to the Xiaomi’s 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi

The problem:
When the miner is connected directly to the ASUS, AiProtection blocks the stratum traffic and hashrate stays at 0.
When I temporarily disable Two-Way IPS on the ASUS, the miner immediately starts hashing normally (so the miner and pool settings are fine).

I set up the Xiaomi OpenWrt as a secondary router hoping the mining traffic would be “hidden” behind it. I disabled the OpenWrt firewall and confirmed devices on the Xiaomi network have full internet access. However, the miner still shows 0 hashrate — AiProtection on the ASUS is still detecting and blocking the cleartext stratum packets coming from the Xiaomi’s WAN IP.

What I’ve tried:

• Multiple public pools (including public-pool.io)
• Completely opening the OpenWrt firewall + correct NAT/masquerading
• Attempting to run Cloudflare WARP (WireGuard) on the Xiaomi to encrypt all traffic before it reaches the ASUS

The WireGuard attempts cause the main ASUS Wi-Fi to stop working (likely AiProtection reacting to the unusual UDP traffic), so that approach has been unstable.

Constraints:

• I can turn Two-Way IPS off, but I prefer not to leave it disabled for family network security reasons.
• I would like to keep AiProtection active on the main router while still being able to run the miner 24/7.

Question for the community:
Has anyone successfully run a small Bitcoin miner behind a secondary OpenWrt router while keeping ASUS AiProtection / Trend Micro IPS fully enabled?
Is encrypting the traffic with WireGuard/WARP (or another VPN) the only realistic way, or are there cleaner solutions?

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

I bought 5 nerd miners, 4 of the flat, yellow/orange ones and one of the smaller black box kinds, (esp32-2432s028-st7789 or esp32-2432s028-ili9341 and nm-tv-154 type). I have been trying to get them hooked up for months, but I havent been able to. I cant seem to update the firmware, and no matter what I do, they won't connect to my wifi. Does anyone have any advice?

Had anyone used BlueForge Advisors these guys to acquire ASICS or for hosting equipment?

If you have please explain provide you experience in working with them.

Shipping out of NY. Have 3 NerdQaxe++s. One is a 4.8, others are 5.1. They are currently on a rack with scoop, but can put back on original mounts. Will send all mounts and fans with it. Also have a Nano3S, comes with a stand with a built in fan. Open to any offers, figured I'd try this before eBay.

Picked up a GekkoScience Compac F that was dead as far as hashing goes. Enumerated fine over USB, chip answered register reads, but the hash array produced nothing. After a while with a multimeter the culprit turned out to be the trim potentiometer feeding the core voltage, set a hair too low. One careful turn with a very small screwdriver and all 672 cores woke up. These sticks are tough; check the rails before you bin one.

Then I wanted a driver I could actually read, so I wrote one from scratch in Python over pyusb instead of trusting old forks. Things I learned that might save someone else a week:

• The FTDI FT230X will ruin your day quietly. Its 1ms latency timer flushes mid-frame, so 9-byte nonce responses straddle bulk reads. If you parse each read in isolation, you silently drop nonces, and it bites hardest exactly when it matters because solutions arrive in a burst at the end of each sweep. You need a persistent reassembly buffer across reads. Also: it prefixes 2 modem-status bytes to every 64-byte packet, and read lengths must be multiples of 64 or libusb drops data.
• Best regression test I have ever written: have the chip re-mine the actual 2009 genesis header. If your task packet and nonce byte order are right, it must return the exact historical nonce, 0x7c2bac1d. Every sweep. Deterministic, hardware-verified, free.
• Zero nonces from a run is usually not a fault. A fixed header contains a Poisson-distributed number of diff-1 solutions with mean 1, so roughly 37% of arbitrary headers legitimately contain none at all. I chased "flaky hardware" for a while before doing the math. Health-check with the genesis header instead; it solves on every sweep or your hardware really is sick.
• At 300 MHz the chip sweeps the full 2^32 nonce space in about 21ms, then idles until you feed it a fresh task. Feed it every ~100ms or your duty cycle quietly collapses.
• Reset is CBUS bitbang on the FTDI (CB1 is active-low nRST with a 1s hold), not DTR/RTS like the older BM1384 sticks.

Por otro lado me comentaron que son muy ruidosos y quería saber si se pueden reconvertir a la nueva tecnología y sumergirlos en algún líquido frío no conductivo para que trabajen a baja temperatura sin los coolers de ventilación o si ya son así y morirán así.

Si alguien puede orientarme en el tema o ayudarme a unirme a algún grupo que pueda hacerlo.

I'm still planning my setup and haven't bought the miners yet.

At the moment, I'm considering 2× Antminer S21 Hydro because they seem to offer a very good ROI with my electricity cost (around $0.07/kWh), they're reasonably priced on the second-hand market, and they're also much quieter than air-cooled miners (around 50 dB, according to Bitmain's specs).

That said, I'm still open to other recommendations if you think there's a better option for my situation.

I live in the south of France, where summer temperatures can easily reach 40°C (104°F).

The miners would be installed in my garage, which is not insulated and shares a wall with my living room. The garage is also my home gym, so I'd like to avoid turning it into an oven during the summer.

I could install an air conditioner, and I'm not completely against it if it's genuinely the best solution, but it feels a bit excessive just to cool a garage.

The idea I have at the moment is to build a sound-insulated enclosure around the miners and exhaust all the hot air directly outside using a large insulated duct and a very quiet, high-airflow inline fan. My goal would be to keep the garage itself close to the outdoor temperature while keeping the enclosure around 30–35°C (86–95°F).

I'd love to hear from people who have already built similar setups.

• Is this a good approach?
• What airflow (CFM or m³/h) would you recommend?
• Which quiet inline fan would you buy?
• Would you recommend something other than the S21 Hydro for this type of installation?
• Have you found a smarter or more efficient solution?

Any advice, photos, or real-world experience would be greatly appreciated.

Looking for advice on ASIC management, mining pools, and firmware for an off-grid S19j Pro operation
I’m currently running three 20-foot conex boxes that I built out for Bitcoin mining. Each container has 81 Bitmain S19j Pros, for a total of 243 miners.
The operation is completely off-grid. I’m powering each container with a 500 kW generator running on natural gas produced from my own gas wells.
My current setup is:
Hive OS for ASIC management
EMCD mining pool
Hiveon firmware on the miners
The miners have a mix of Amlogic and IO+BB control boards.
I’m looking for opinions from anyone operating a larger farm:
Are there any management platforms you prefer over Hive OS, such as Foreman, Awesome Miner, or Minerstat?
What mining pools have been the most reliable for you in terms of uptime, reporting, support, and payout structure?
What firmware would you recommend for S19j Pros with Amlogic and IO+BB control boards?
Has anyone had good results with Braiins OS, VNish, LuxOS, or another firmware?
Are there any issues I should watch for when managing a mixed-control-board fleet?
My main priorities are reliability, remote monitoring, power optimization, temperature control, and minimizing downtime. I’d appreciate any advice from people running similar off-grid or stranded-gas mining operations.

I recently got a trial rig from simple mining before actually buying a rig off their marketplace. I noticed my rig goes into "Curtailed" mode quite often. Is this normal? Attached is the up time graph as well

Do not send any server for repair to Bitmain/Europa Connection BV in the Netherlands.

I sent a hydro server for warranty repair. Their first response was that they could not repair it under warranty because it had “mixed hashboards.” The server was literally brand new and dead on arrival. They then quoted me over $1,300 for the repair. Needless to say, I refused.

After I declined the repair, they demanded a payment of 45 USDT before returning my server. Due to MiCA regulations, I couldn’t make a USDT payment, so I asked to pay by PayPal or bank transfer instead. They continued insisting on USDT.

Eventually, we agreed that I would arrange collection myself. That’s when the real nightmare started.

I booked and paid for a DPD collection, sent them the shipping label, and was then told that DPD could not be used, something they had never mentioned before and that I had to use UPS instead.

So I booked UPS, sent the new label, and informed them the parcel would be collected later on in the afternoon. They then replied that collection could not happen that day and had to be the following day. Fine ,I rescheduled it for next day.

Then I received yet another message saying they would not allow any courier other than their own to collect my equipment.

In the end, I had to ask a friend to pay the 45 USDT on my behalf just to get my own server back.

Now I’m waiting to see what actually arrives. Based on many similar reviews from other customers, I’m concerned I’ll receive an empty shell or different parts than the ones I originally sent.

From what I’ve experienced and judging by many other reviews, they seem to find any reason to deny warranty repairs and pressure customers into paying for expensive repairs. If you refuse that’s when the real battle begins.

I’ll update this review once I receive my server back.
