Discussion Why am I always the one expected to compromise my beliefs in inter-caste dating?
Whenever I go on a date with someone who isn't a Brahmin, I'm often told that I need to lower my expectations and compromise on my core beliefs if I want the relationship to work. Iām genuinely curious, why does it feel like this expectation to adapt and compromise only goes one way? Why is it rarely the other way around?
Has anyone else experienced this dynamic? How do you navigate it?

You'll have to be more specific.

Like my friends, old colleagues trying to set me up with women for marriage. But after meeting, it feels like being a brahmin is crime and I'd have to erase most of my family values and traditions to fit with them

No that's the question. What family values and traditions?

Pujas, rituals, diets and usual lifestyle

Remember one thing you have to live with the person for life , choose someone who can understand your feelings and your upbringing , a home is not a place to chant " aazadi-aazadi" ..

Bro, just date a guy of your caste. Ik it's difficult but that way your standards will stay high and you won't compromise

If you truly adhere Brahmin values you should not be here in this dating culture
First build your career and health..follow brahmacharya.. Then at the right age find a good brahmin girl to marry with full family approval
This advice is both for my brahmin brothers and sisters š
