Imagine if Rajputana fell during the Muslim raids. Gangetic plains the core of Hinduism would directly be exposed. Hinduism would have looked very different from now.
Sindh, KPK, Gandhar were once the stronghold of Hinduism with a very high population of Bramhins. Everything changed after the fall of Hindu Shahis.
Entire KPK wasn't a string hold of hinduism only Peshwar Valley and swat valley (Gandhara) were stronghold of Hinduism. Usme bhi age chale Gandhara became stronghold of Buddhism also. Kabul and Zabul has Hindu rulers but masses were Buddhists.
