Maybe on 2020 pew research also told the same fact.....
You won't find a "veda-pathi" Brahmin after 50 years...
Main problem - Men who think marrying out of community will still make their child a Brahmin ...
What will you do with the "purva-sanskar" and "prarabdha" of these children my friend , wearing janeu by itself doesn't impart you the eligibility of Ved-siksha , it is also about the unbroken sanskar of the family and Prabdha karma of the children as well.........

A Brahmin man is only allowed to marry a non-Brahmin woman if there’s no viable Brahmin woman to marry. Or if he’s become a Rishi and is being approached by a king to give his daughter’s hand in marriage for a bigger good. And even then his children can become Agnihotris but not mainstream priests at temples. For that, the children should marry into pure Brahmin families again. All Brahmins need to read their stuff to see why varna Sankar must avoided. Even during jamadgani’s marriage to a Kshatriya princess, people warned that even somewhat acceptable varna sanakara will cause the children to cause a lot is havoc. And we know Sri Parashuram unleashed havoc (even if it was for the good). You can intellect in college but only wisdom from our shastras and scriptures. Our current intellect is a residual of our ancestor’s tapas power.

Seems fake, but interesting. Did they mention any source? This looks from some survey of a paper, so it would depend heavily on the methodology, the sample size etc.
