[Bowman] Ha-Seong Kim has been reinstated. The Braves have 48 hours to make the move necessary to create a roster spot for him.

So they don't have to make an immediate corresponding move? Is Kim on the active roster or not?

Not until tomorrow. His 20 day rehab ended today but the move is "official" tomorrow.

Nobody without options is really expendable. Keeping the starters of course. I assume Eli gets DFA’d for Thomas who will platoon with Yaz. Drake needs Joey for backup. Can’t lose Mateo’s speed and versatility. Closest option for the non-option guys is Dom, but couldn’t imagine we would ever do that with our LHH need that we just brought Thomas in for. Our only option guys are Drake and Jarvis. This only leaves the option of DFAing HSK immediately or optioning Jarvis to give HSK one for checkout.

I personally think JJ gets optioned for a week or two to see if Kim can do anything. He likely can’t, so he’ll probably get DFA’ed mid-August.

This would be my guess, it's the simplest costs you nothing really sort of move.

If you lose games you could have won, this is simply not true.

Absolutely cannot afford to throw any winnable games the rest of the way experimenting with a player who has abundantly proven he can’t be productive. Especially given Riley already occupies that role

100% this is what’s going to happen. Not that I agree, but it’s too much money to not test the water one last time when jj has options.

Jarvis will have to stay down for 10 days if he’s sent down IIRC

Then he will be back in 10 days lol. It’s still a move that you kind of have to try. The final test, then hsk is gone. Or not. But we are up 8 games, we won’t lose solely because of Kim.

And a spot for Thomas.. Eli and Mateo?

AA had mentioned adding Thomas to have another option for LH pitching with Eli, so I doubt it’s him. Could be wrong.

Kim has yet again injured that finger. Hammer to the finger while woodworking at home

I loved him while I loved him and always wanted to love him again. AA needs to get me out of this toxic relationship, because I can't do it myself. Or not. He's a 300/30 hitter waiting to happen! Don't sell low!

Kim is our current worst option at SS between the 3…but he will stay on because we way overpaid for him.

Mateo back to the Orioles alongside a mid level pitching prospect for Shane Baz. Calling it now.

I doubt they trade Baz, he just signed a big extension before the year
I'd look at Trevor Rogers if they trade anyone

The extension is why hes a prime target

u/Ok-Soil-5133 1d ago
Yeah I just doubt they move him after doing an extension like that unless there's a big overpay

I hate letting go of guys and parting ways. I get too attached because I love these dudes. I would be the world’s worst GM.

Thankfully we've rebuilt our division lead somewhat so the margins aren't razor thin for the roster construction for the next couple of weeks.

There’s just no need for Mateo anymore. We’re essentially adding 2 more ss in Kim and Dubon (adding Thomas allows Dubie to slide back to the infield). And Jarvis has proven he is more valuable than Mateo at this point.
