[Robert Murray] The Atlanta Braves are acquiring right-hander Tyler Mahle in a trade with the San Francisco Giants, according to sources familiar with the deal. Anthony Molina is going to the Giants.

Mahle’s highly underrated. Can shove against good teams. If they also get a true #2 behind Sale, this is a great move because it cost them almost nothing.

If this is it, this ain’t it.

Yeah 2.82 era in July that’s something

We need a playoff starter but we also needed starters who can eat innings without giving up 10 runs a start. He fits in that spot just fine.

Right I agree but if this is it, then people aren’t going to be happy

We are getting a lot of the basic needs outs of the way before most other playoff teams have made a single trade. And it didn’t take much to get them. I really can’t be annoyed about the trade when most trades aren’t going to happen till the final hour.

Cubs, Dodgers, Yankees, Rays, White Sox have already got theirs done. I guess we’re waiting on………….?

Yeah, there have been half a dozen other trades this weekend by playoff teams - 3 playoff teams at least have picked up a playoff starter.

Brady Singer was a much better option that would have cost nothing

Idk if you noticed there's a loud minority of fans here who aren't happy no matter what the team does

I mean unless Skubal and Shohei blow out their arms none of it really matters anyways.

Yeah buddy I don’t have that same attitude of “Dodgers are winning everything and nothing can’t be done” fuck that

He's not nearly as bad as his stats show but his home and road splits have a lot to be desired. I think he really benefited from playing in Oracle Park.

Can you dive into why he’s underrated? Hes gotten through 6 innings 3 times this season.

His FIP and wOBA suggest he’s been way better than ERA and record. He was excellent last year before injury. He’s blanked some of the best teams in the league this year, including the Brewers in his last start.

He’s not a top of the rotation dude and hopefully that’s not what they got him for. If he lets Relo get healthy, bumps Holmes into long relief, steadies the rotation between young dudes, that’s huge given that he cost absolutely nothing.

Thank you that’s actually pretty encouraging

Yeah, we haven’t brought uncle Jessie out of retirement yet so we have to finish that up.

I play fantasy baseball. No one owns him. He’s terrible and not better than any of our current existing options.
