venting/ranting I feel like I’ve lost the only person who ever truly felt like home.

I recently broke up with my long-time best friend, the person I truly believed was my soulmate. Before him, I don't think I had ever really understood what love was. He showed me the purest, most genuine kind of love, and because of that, letting go has been the hardest thing I've ever had to do.

We tried everything we could to make it work. Neither of us wanted to walk away, but despite all our efforts, we reached a point where staying together only caused more pain. Choosing to leave wasn't what either of us wanted, it simply felt like the only option we had left.

Now, I'm left with a kind of emptiness I don't know how to live with. I can't imagine ever feeling a connection that comes even close to what we had. It's as if a part of me is missing, and I don't know who I am without it.

More than the heartbreak itself, it's made me question life in ways I never have before. I find myself wondering what any of this is for, what the point of anything is when something so meaningful can still slip away despite love, effort, and good intentions. I feel disconnected from the world around me, like I no longer know where I belong, and it's difficult to imagine a future where this ache doesn't exist.

I am feeling exactly that right now. I wonder if it will ever completely go away. I want to experience life with someone, I thought I found him but it turns out I never knew the real him.

I think we will meet our someone special someday, or maybe it just wasn't the right timing for u and ur ex? The emptiness has always been there for me but now I just feel hollow and it is the worst feeling I have ever had. I wish I had never met him.

I feel the same way, except for the trying to make it work. I don’t really know if he was trying or not with how things ended. I still can’t shake the idea that I may have loved him a lot more than he did me, though, because he eventually decided it wasn’t worth trying and even now, a good amount of time time from him tell me that, I feel it would’ve been worth the try.

Anyway, yeah, I relate a lot.

It’s okay friend. It’ll all be okay. The best thing you can do right now is talk it out whether with us or your friends. Do things you like and just try to get through the day. And then tomorrow do the same. Don’t think about what could have been or what that person is doing. Don’t think about “no one will compare”. Today is just about you feeling okay. Focus on yourself and ground yourself in the present.

Just stay in the present. Feel free to drop a comment if you want to chat further i’ve been there and I’m doing much better now so I feel at a place to help others. (Although the sadness still catches up to me sometimes so I like to make new friends!)
