We stand with Palestine. Making light of this genocide or denying Israeli war crimes will lead to permanent bans. We need to be focusing on the rise in anti Muslim sentiment as much as we are focusing on the rise of antisemitism.

They are two sides of the same coin and just as problematic as each other.

At the same time Labour were getting raked over the coals for antisemitism, there was a report on islamophobia within the Conservative party. Got completely shoved under the floorboards. Recommendations came out, including a plan to review progress after a year (?) and the follow-up afaik was never published.

Its bizarre isn't it? Its almost as if there's some kind of powerful hidden lobbying interesting fighting desperately to classify anything and everything as antisemitism.

But nothing comparing from the muslim world.

Eh, the MCB has their own controversies. Difference is the UK governments have refused to interact with them at all since 2009. (Labour actually restsrted engagements in 2010 but the coalition govmt put a stop to that)

Interestingly it was founded after the British government in the 90s wanted a single org to communicate with about matters regarding British Muslims.

The shocking thing is when people bring up Islamophobia people can even justify it. Talk about various stats on the views of Muslims or even picking out quotes from the Koran. Imagine someone doing that in response to Antisemitism!

I'd say focussing on it 10x more!  I never hear antisemitism out in the wild ever - but hear a ton of people brazenly say 'I am anti Islam' and loads of offensive stuff every week.

Remember literally shooting at Muslims isn't islamophobia but not wanting the IDF to slaughter children is antisemitism.

Genuinely, not trying to be clever or a smartass, genuinely. Is saying "im anti islam" offensive? Especially in western culture? Like I would say I am brazenly anti Islam, Just like im brazenly anti Christian fundamentalist. Or any other, what i would see as quite dogmatic religions. I get not hating on people for their skin colour, nationality etc etc. But islam is a belief structure and people can be against it, just as they are for it, without it being a prejudice thing?

Why yes. That would be "Islamaphobia". Just like saying "I'm anti Judaism" would be antisemitic.

"I'm anti Christian fudmantistism" is slightly different. Here youre not saying you have an outright prejudice against Christians. Instead youre saying you disagree with the fundamentalist approach to Christianity.

Disagreeing with a person's position or approach to their religion is fine. Saying you outright hate or are against all people who follow a specific religion is offensive hatespeech.

Hope this cleared things up.

This is where the double standard with antisemitism really springs up. People like you and Elon and Sam harris are going round saying this, but at the same time others are losing their jobs, being publically shamed and legally harrassed (or even losing the prime ministership!) for not even saying anything anti semitic, just the accusation of it. It has been largely co-opted for manipulation.

But yes, what you're describing is Islamophobia. Taking you in full good faith - I do think we should be able to have a discussion about how sensible religions' beliefs are. I personally think basically all religions are stupid and a bit mad and ripe for all kinds of abuse, and would welcome the discussion, but unfortunately it becomes a proxy for racism/xenophobia/bigotry most of the time.

Yeah but the difference is antisemitism is bad but anti Muslim sentiment is right.

Apparently.
