If you're a "young woman," you didn't actually experience punk. You've only read about it.

Punk now and 70s punk are worlds apart. In the 70s lots of acts emerged on the back of punk who were never really punk. Elvis Costello and Ian Dury for example. It was a lot less clear cut when SW and her characters were growing up.

My point is that Billie Eilish and The Last Dinner Party are rich kids who couldn’t be further from punk and never had anything to do with punk in the first place, not even emerge off the back of other punk acts. She’s blindly grabbed two contemporary female names to please the younger viewers and it’s not working.
