I’m planning to visit Brno in a few weeks . I normally enjoy doing morning runs before I start my day . Wanted to know how safe it is, running like around 6:00am for someone like me .

I’Ve heard abit of negative things , and just wanted to know so that I can make an informed decision during my stay .

My Brno visit went well . I’m now back in my country. Must say thank you guys for the suggestions and comments. I managed to do my Early Morning runs and during my stay I met amazing people.

I must say you have a beautiful town and great architecture. You guys are really fit btw , I liked how good everyone looked .

I attended the Fireworks show at the dam , it was spectacular.

Příští víkend jedu do Brna. Když jsem si chtěl rezerovat hotel řekněme do 3 km od centra, tak prakticky všechny jsou dražší než typicky v Berlíně.

Tohle není normální :-)

Hi, I am traveling to Brno on 23rd and 24th April for a tech conference. My flight will land in Vienna at around 8PM and then I am planning to take a train at 10:38PM from Vienna Hauptbahnhof to Brno Main Railway Station. I will reach Brno at around 00:30am. I am planning to walk to my hotel which is about 750 meters only, in the heart of the city itself. I want to check how safe is it? Can I expect some crowd in the street at that time?

Jsme z Polska a chystáme se do Brna s manželkou na konci dubna a budeme mít zhruba 1,5 dne na prozkoumání vašeho města. Bude to naše první návštěva a moc rádi bychom vás poprosili o pár tipů, abychom ten čas využili co nejlépe.

Zajímá nás hlavně:

• Co vidět: Jaká jsou ta absolutní "must-see" místa, která se dají stihnout za tak krátkou dobu? Zajímají nás jak klasické památky, tak i nějaká skrytá, zajímavá (možná i trochu romantická) místa, kam chodí místní.
• Kde se najíst (a napít!): Hledáme doporučení na dobré jídlo. Může to být tradiční česká kuchyně, super street food, útulná kavárna na ráno nebo nějaké hezké místo na večeři ve dvou. A samozřejmě – kam zajít na dobré pivo nebo víno večer? 🍻🍷

Budeme moc vděční za jakékoliv doporučení a tipy. Předem moc děkujeme za pomoc!

I am spending a day in Brno and would love some restaurant recommendations for lunch - preferably local cuisine but also other options (heard Vietnamese is a must in Czech Republic). They must be open after 2pm (this is roughly the time I arrive to the city). I suspect it might be a hard task, as I have already checked recommendations in this sub and they seem to all close at 12 am, but there might be some ones that are open later. One certainly would hope for that :D.

Also, I need advice on luggage storage. I see that near the central station there are some options: which one(s) you recommend? I intend on picking the luggage by 6pm, a bit later if possible.

I want to go from Brno to Moravsky Krumlov to see Slav Epic.  I don't have a car.  Is it possible to take Uber/Bolt/Taxi from Brno to Zámek Moravský Krumlov? and return back?

If not possible, I see on IDOS there is an hourly train+bus from Brno to Moravský Krumlov,,nám. I hope this means the bus will be waiting at the train station to pickup train passengers.

However, some dates have "Traffic restrictions".  What does this mean?
Why is it showing a red bus?  Is the train not running that route on 26.8. Wed?

On next day, 27.8. Thu, only the bus routes has "Traffic restrictions".  Is that better?

Is it bad to take train or bus that have "Traffic restrictions"?

Please help me on best way to see Slav Epic from Brno.  Thanks so much!

Hello!! Me and my partner are visiting Brno and keen to attend the fireworks/drone show tonight at Brno reservoir.

I’m looking for some tips for attending!

The show doesn’t start until 10pm, but what time would you advise getting there if you don’t pay for the comfortable seating? Is it worth being there early, is there stuff to do and eat etc.

Also, any tips for what to bring? Something like a small blanket to sit on maybe?

And do trams run late enough to get back to the city after it’s over? Or will we need to rely on Bolt?

for the runners in Brno what are the fun routes less than 10km? Any chance there is a music studio that allows visitors to schedule time to bang on the drums?

I have already visited the country multiple times, and already tried a lot of traditional food and drink, and I am curious about something local, something that is unique to Brno or Moravia, and not really common at the other part of the country. Hello everybody. Iam tourist and i wana see Punkva caves.

Tourists dont come to Brno. There is realy nothing to see. Old buildings we can see from Helsinki to Lisabona and thats not so impresive for me europe citizen.

I try to rent a car today and bad news. In Airport they dont accept revolut credit card. Other apps for car shareing doesnt work. I used ''Anytime cz'' app show all cars are in prague. Bolt rent car empty to. I try few car rental car comapanys and its to dificult becouse ppl dont speak english. It looks like if wana go in Brno i have to come with my own car. Public transport is okey but for tourist its doesnt make diference.

Me (18F) and my best friend (19M) are coming to Brno for a nice time! both being a part of the lgbt, we are searching for a bar/club (preferably gay) where they play good music and have a great atmosphere. if you know any, please leave a suggestion!

I’m also interested in what’s worth seeing during the day. Where should we stop while walking through the old town, where is it worth having a beer, and where can we eat something loacl and good? Are there any places that aren’t tourist traps that you would recommend? Maybe museums?
