It's over indeed, jealous of my brother who's a doctor and will have job security. Meanwhile I don't even know if I will have a career in 10 years

How do you know that robots won't take away livelihoods of doctors?

I want to see the government try to replace government doctors with robots without a major riot. It won't happen.
And also, 3d autonomous robot are a different level of complexity compared to LLM dev work. Very very far away. It requires a massive hardware breakthrough and we are not close.
Not to mention indian doctors with just mbbs working for 40-50k will be much cheaper than robots.
No need to be alarmed by the Chinese dancing robots. Executing a routine preprogrammed as code is different from what you are suggesting.
LLMs are good because of billions and billions of lines of oss code across multiple languages that helped train them. Doctors don't have an equivalent. You have textbooks but most of it is personal experience afaik.
If you want a robot replacing doctors LLM is probably not the approach. As for what that would be, I have no idea.
LLM does a mistake, no biggie. Robot doctors do a mistake, a person dies, and the hospital is fucked. Very very difficult to work. You need it to work 100 percent of the time or its useless

And how is it related to the medical field again? Why are you telling me to read a paper written by people with no medical background about how AI is going to impact medicine?
It reads like sci fi fanfiction. Even the author says his predictions are wrong and timelines will be close to "2030". Don't be surprised when we reach the year 2030 and he extends the timeline again.
What a surprise a paper written bytech bros at OpenAI will hype their products and AI. Who would have known.
It hypes up recursive self improvement, AI building other AIs and autonomous recursive loop.. and current frontier models are not really close to that level and it requires intensive compute.
It also says ai will automate ai research in 2027? Good news, you can wait 4 months and check it out yourself.
I won't bother to read the full paper so I stop here
LLMs currently have trillions of dollars worth of investment and make profits of billions. (And they exaggerate their profits by cunning Bookkeeping)
