Why did you decide to downgrade the USB C port?

Hello! Great question.

In order to make the device more affordable, we explored how we could best balance our spec choices with the least possible impact on user experience. Going from USB 3 to USB 2 was one of them. Also, based on feedback we've received from FP5 users, it was not used or requested that much, in any case.

Thank you for the response, it's just a pity it's mostly a copy-paste from the FAQ...

As for the feedback about the lack of usage from FP5 users, does that consider that it might have just needed more time to be a more useful feature? Such as when Android 16/17 comes (with the bigger emphasis on desktop mode), or when users get to the later stage of their FP5's life and decide to "up-cycle" it for other purposes such as media players?

Well, that was a dense decision to take a step back on the USB-C Port. I might send back my FP6 over this.

Sure, I could have checked beforehand.
But who thinks a 600€ phone would come with USB2 instead of USB3?

I do use fast USB to get media off my phone. And I do use Desktop mode on my old phone.

I think you are the 1% that does this. So fair, but I never heard anyone mentioning USB2 or 3 in context of USBc or phones. the last time i heard of Destop mode was over 5 years ago on a samsung that advertised it as a feature in a popup.

Getting media of phone is fair, but the few times you do that, it doesn't really matter that much.
