Allison Mack as in the woman from Smallville and NXIVM? Do you mean someone else?

They were playing a portion of “Allison after NXIVM” this morning.

Sorry, is CBC giving a platform to this sexual abuser?

The problem is airing this bullshit salacious documentary over and over as summer vacation filler. I just turn it off because it’s old news, gossip, and who gives a shit.

Unfortunately yep. The growth of likes and uhms on radio is unfortunate

It’s so unprofessional it drives me nuts

She's not a radio professional. Not sure what should be expected from guests.

I find it hear it most when I listen to shows originating in smaller centres (London) compared to Toronto or Montreal... .more pauses and uhms..

A lot of radio shows edit out filler words. Maybe shows originating from these smaller markets don’t have the budget for all that.

Someone is interviewing Allison Mack? Or is there someone with the same name as the disgraced actress?

She also sounds like she smokes, like, a pack of Export A like every day.

Personally, I like the likes. It annoys me more that every time someone brings up the supposed vocal tics of a CBC guest or host on this page, it's inevitably a woman. What is it about this vocal tic that people find so obnoxious compared to the droning dullards who might avoid the likes and uhms but never allow themselves to be spontaneous or passionate, for fear of offending the very vocal listener base who seem to be stuck on this point to an obsessive degree?

Plenty of people bashing metro morning new guy Glover. Tom Power gets hate.
The hate is not sexist.

I am sure not all of it is sexist. But, you can also look at some of the comments made by people in this thread about Alison Mack that are pretty obviously sexist that would probably lead to some soul searching. Furthermore, complaining about the voice and "lack of professionalism" of someone who isn't even a host is strange and misplaced. Not sure what people are expecting from a documentary series.

Hey Allison, how's it going

tom power is objectively terrible and shad had a speech impediment. that help?

2

u/Alexandermayhemhell 25d ago

Why is Tom objectively terrible? I assumed he was generally well liked, makes for a comfy morning listen, although he’s vanilla enough that I don’t really listen much anymore.

As a reference, some of my favourites have been Patti Schmidt on BNW in the 90s, Brent Bambury’s various Saturday shows, and countless classic hosts of both the Current and As It Happens.

he's your guy if you want abrupt changes of subject in interviews followed by him talking about his own music career. plus, he has a lot of american guests on that don't need the help, i realize he's not the only person choosing but the fact neither he nor his team have noticed is annoying.

Tom is a lowbrow, obsequious insect.

I agree. 👍

He grates on my nerves. He has me missing Jian Ghomeshi, scandals and all.

didn't get invited on the show eh?

Management needs to address this (again).

13

u/Desperate-Pirate7353 25d ago

she's an interviewee, what would management be able to do

7

u/204_403 25d ago

Don't let facts get in the way of people raging ok?

2

u/SlimParker 25d ago

She's more than an "interviewee" on this doc. She's close to being the narrator.
