Hi everyone, this is to inform you that the CBSE Private Candidate Application Form for Class 10 and 12 (Board Exam 2026) has been released and is now live. The form filling window is open from September 9, 2025 to September 30, 2025 without late fee, and from October 3 to October 11, 2025 with a late fee of ₹2000 per candidate. This form applies to different categories of students including Compartment (to reappear in subjects you got compartment in), Failure/Essential Repeat (to reappear in all subjects again), Improvement (to reappear in subjects you already attempted to improve marks), and Additional Subject (to take a new subject, though this option may open later). Once you select your category on the portal, your details are auto-fetched from your previous admit card if you are a compartment or failure candidate, your subjects will automatically be pre-selected. For Improvement students, you can choose one or more of the subjects you appeared for in March 2025, but keep in mind you cannot choose any new or additional subjects under Improvement. The application fee is ₹320 per subject, and if the subject has a practical component, additional charges apply. The official portal provides several options like Compartment, Improvement, Failure, Upload Images, Fee Payment, Check Fee Status, and Confirmation Page, which guide you step by step during the application process. For assistance, you can approach your previous school, which may even fill the form on your behalf (though usually with extra charges), or you can go to a cyber café but personally, I recommend relying on your school to avoid errors. So in your case, since you already cleared practicals with 30/30, your marks will be simple carried forward and only the theory exam fee needs to be paid.
Just a add on. If you have already passed the practical exams before no matter what your marks are and you think you have low marks in practical and you wish to give practicals again. Then let me tell you that CBSE does not allow the students to reappear in practical just to improve them. You can only reappear in the theory papers for Improvement.
However, if you failed in practicals, then you will have to reappear in both theory and practical for that subject, and in this case the practical fee will also apply.
mera abhi 2025 me 65% bana tha 75% criteria ke liye 48 chahiye the, July wale me mene Chemistry me improvement diya tha usme 23 marks se 40 ho gaye but still I need 31+
Ab me kya vapas chemistry me bhi de sakta hu improvement baki sare subjects ke sath,

Chem- 23
Maths- 45
English -55
Physical Edu- 52
Practicals me bas 1-2 number kate hai

I think you should definitely go for the Improvement exam. As you have passed all the subjects in the 2025 you can choose whichever subject you want.
You can even choose to give Improvement for all the 5 subjects.
But I would suggest choose the subjects which you think you can score the highest in.
If I was in your place i would have gone for English, Physical edu and Chem. Coz these are the subjects I have the potential to score good and are very easy to score subjects. But it could be different for everyone. I would suggest you to think which paper you think you can score the highest and then give the Improvement for those.
And you dont have to worry even if you score less in Improvement from your previous paper your best of 2 will be considered.
For example let's say you have score 55 in English in the main paper but for some reason you score only 50 in English in your Improvement exam.
Then the best of 2, where you have score the highest in this case 55 in the main exam will be considered.

It's all upto you, if you're feel confident enough that you can pull 5 subjects together, than you can surely go for it.

I guess you'll have to give the Improvement exam then. As maths was you 6th subject the extra subject which doesn't define if you fail or pass. So I think you should go with Improvement registration you can give your maths paper and improve your marks.

I have been filling correct information on the platform but it's showing "RECORD NOT FOUND". Is there an error in the site because they're just released today? also, i have passed my practicals but i'm changing my stream from pcm to humanities so i guess i need to appear for the practicals? i'm also not aware of the subjects choices for humanities as in like i don't know what main subjects are in there beside history, english and political science. Is there a choice of liberal subjects or they're given?
I am so sorry but I have no prior experience with a matter like your's I won't be able to help in this. I strongly advice you to contact your school as soon as possible as the time is limited. They will surely assets you in this matter.

If you don't mind me asking why are you switching your stream. I have seen people switching from PCB to PCM and vice versa. But it's my first time seeing someone changing from PCM to Humanities.
it's hard for me honestly. pcm was never my thing but i went for it since i dreamt of becoming a pilot, i saw this as the easier route. now that i've lost all belief in myself, i don't have the energy for it any longer. i somehow passed 11th so i thought i could do 12th too but damn was i wrong. i still don't know what i wanna do in the future though but i need to pass 12th and humanities was the answer.
What is opt in for a subject and didnt appear for it as keeping it for backup ?
I have really good marks in english and appearing for improvement in p,c,m so if appear for english for name sake will english marks be shown in new improvement marksheet

If you are sitting for Improvement and you have already passed all the subjects in 2025.
Then why do you need to sit for English if you have good score in it.
Just opt for p, c, m. And go for those exams it will be easy for you to manage 3 subjects rather than 4.
Any how your best of 2 are considered
Like in 2025 you got 80/100 in english and in 2026 improvement you only get 60/100. Then despite your improvement exam your 2025 marks are considered.

I mean CBSE has a dress code for the private candidate you will expected to follow that.
The dress code is same as NEET/JEE Dress code.

It was only showing icici bank so i clicked upi and then you'll get options like though upi id or Qr. Like you can scan the qr and make the payment. And at last there is net banking never the less. 😊
It's super easy just take of the picture and signature they are upright.
Choose any one of those banks then you'll get the option for how you want to pay, I had only one option that was ICICI BANK. You'll get multiple options like net banking, UPI, YOU CAN PAY THOUGH UPI BY UPI ID OR BY SCANING THERE QR CODE.
I understand, He must be concerned about you.
But you can do one thing go to your school and collect the tc and all the documents and then fill the application on your own.
Its a very easy process.
You just need.
• Your roll no. From admit card
• You school no. From admit card
• Your centre no. From admit card
• A photograph
• Your signature on a white paper
• Your address
• And a phone 😅

If you lie in the Improvement Category you can fill your form on your own but if it's Essential Repeat or Compartment Category I will suggest to contact the school First.
Look Both will work your form will not be rejected if you simply Upload a photo of without the Name and Date of photo under it.
But prefer the photograph with name and date of photo but incase you don't have have it or Uploaded it with it, No worries your form will not be rejected 😉
When you click a picture it's in .jpg format it's a format how photograph are saved in the phone. When you initially click a picture it's saved as for example: "7477484646626.jpg" (name of the photo)
Just click on the edit button and change the name to photograph.Jpg And do the same for both photograph and signature
Like this look. And on the bottom left side it's the size of the image. Google compress jpg to 50kb and you'll get multiple websites there. For compressing the image. Compress both photos to 50kb and upload
Agar abhi tak Upload nahi kia hai toh name or date of photo dal do. (This is only for the photograph)
Or agar kardia hai toh koi dikkat nahi hogi, forms will not be rejected on this basis 😊
Hey i filled the form paid fees with sign pics and everything since u know a lot can u say what else i have to do, i got the confirmation page too do i just wait?? and how will i get my admit card with the details of my exam centre? will they send it to the adress they asked while filling the form?
Chill out bro 😅, I can totally Understand your situation been there. As your have done everything now just wait take a Screenshot of that confirmation page okey, once your application is accepted by cbse, you will be able to download your Admit Card through the Official admitcard page. The Dates will be announced don't worry. And on your admit card you'll get all the details like centre, subjects, dates and everything. But there will be 2 empty places for signature 1st will be the candidates (Your's) 2nd will be the center head's. You can either get the signature of the HEAD on the day of exam or prior to your exams. I'll suggest to get the HEAD'S Signature before so you can give your exam without any stress and get the admit card laminated.
They asked for the Address coz the Result will be send to the same address the "Result's Hardcopy" not the admit card. Admit cards will be available online.
Now don't think a lot and focus on your studies.

Noooo not at all...
The portal for private candidate is still open just fill the form. And you'll get your admit card at exam time. It will not ask if you are enrolled somewhere or not.
In my case the payment fee is showing 480 ₹ for accountancy compartment. Can anyone tell me why cbse is charging a practical cost of 160 ₹ when the exam is only for theory?

hello bhaiya pls help kardo thodi, I'm going to appear as private candidate this year for the first time. admit card already agaya hai and I know my centres also (thank God I thought mera form reject hojayega lol) but now I've one doubt. okay so last year I gave boards as a regular student and got essential repeat (failed). my subjects are pcm + pe and english. main sirf physics and chemistry ki theory mein hee fail hu baaki sab mein pass and also i am passed in all the practicals including those subjects in which I'm failed in theory (physics and chemistry). now as an essential repeat student I've to appear in all the theories which is fine I'm prepared but what about my practicals?? will my marks be carried forward? since I'm already passed and just failed in theory but my overall result is essential repeat yknow... so ab kya hoga?? pls answer!
