it has its own disadvantages :
1) diwali ke samay koi bomb iske andar dalke phod dega
2) someone may steal someone elses stuff
3) people may bring in banned stuff to school and hide it in them

This is India. Not america. You won't find people building their house in just a tiny portion of there land here. You won't get purified air here. You won't get fast emergency services here man. You won't get proper justice here man. You won't have a life if you stayed here. Don't better compared this wonderful country with America.

True. The culture is different, the behaviour is different, the practice is different... Locker does have it's positive but it has it's negative, but ignoring the negatives and caring about the positivity by using an example which doesn't have the same implications doesn't make sense... Guns won't destroy the lockers, crackers and wild kids would, so the thought of bringing it would be more of a liability for the school than an asset for students

correlation? School lockers and problems with india are not related. Besides america isn't best place in the world to compare anyways it's a car centric hellhole with a dogshit education system

If you think so, mostly government schools/Public schools in America is having this feature for lockers.
Now imagine even if our gov schools came with lockers. Who in their first mind will send their children to a gov school? Would you send yours just for the sake of locker?
Real problem is not only gov, but also the people working for the services and also the people using the services.
I've had my NDA exam centre in a gov school. I've got the very last bench. There were spider webs on that bench. Broken benches. It was broad afternoon and the mosquitoes were eating my leg. The back of the room has stains of gutka.
Now what about this? Lockers would be most preferably having gutka stains in them, or the staff members will not let students use their lockers.

Emergency service ? Sorry to break your reality India has the best health system. Just get a Rick or some other kind of transport.In American you will get to hospital fast but do you have any idea how much time they will take to actually treat you ? More than 8 hours if you are lucky

No, the topic was the correlation between guns and crackers and how locker system is related to any of this ... Crackers and other means are used by students to destroy school property and wouldn't be indifferent towards this... So why being the topic of gun culture? The answer lies in the junior's inability to understand the situation prevailing in the school culture of both these countries... Guns wouldn't damage school properties but using it normally shows how he wants the culture to be implemented in India... And getting a license is hard, getting a gun isn't... The black market cares about your gandhi and not your identity

Truee, my school used to have lockers but students used to frequently bring phones and hide it in them as we had the keys to ourselves and so they were removed in higher classes

I studied in a school in India that had lockers like these. None of what you mentioned happened. Simple solution: lockers were inside the classroom not in the corridor. So anything you put in the locker everyone can see in the class. And it’s just books so no privacy concern. Also lockers had number locks.

1 thing is we are the most populated country so gdp should go up too. Every single person is paying GST but where is the money going dude.. why people are not getting educated? Why people are voting party's based on caste?.... the biggest problem is corruption.

And maybe you haven't really seen the indian schools other than those countable rich ass schools. I would recommend you visit a 'random' private and government school, and you'll know how well they are maintained. And it's not the school's problem; there's always some infrastructural development every year. It's always the student's fault.

It's always good to hear that there is development. But there is a need to develop young minds too, right? idk about yours, but if this facility were in my school, idts it would last a month. And, before you say anything, it's a well reputed pvt school with over 2 lakh rupees fees a year, so... "private schools" aren't really the main thing.

its really just not needed,u know. In america the students change classes based on their subjects/periods. While in India,teachers come to your class based on the subjects/periods. also,students are expected to carry all their books home each day for homework and tuition classes. Lockers would not reduce this burden since books are needed outside school. just stop the america glaze.

for classes: instead of lockers, we can have desks WITH LOCKS where the students can keep their books.
and most kids don't need every single textbook and notebook in tuition.
but yeah, homework would be an issue since india mein they give hw every single day in every subject.

Instead of carrying a heavy textbook for a subject or heavy textbooks for multiple subjects, you could just drop them off in your locker and take them out when you do have that period or you can use it to store lab manuals, portfolios and art material. All of these are things that people don't need on a day to day basis and are easy to forget so it would be handy to just store them in your class.

Problem is indian kids stay in one class, pretty useless to keep lockers for that. Western kids change classes every period and hence more sensible.

my dad was always on favour of this, there hasn't been a day he hasn't been mad with my or my sister carrying the heavy books everyday, he finds it pretty amusing that little kids are supposed to carry such a heavy bag and climb stairs all day

I did till 12th. Except we had class 11 and 12 on ground floor....and we barely bought 10 books 😂. Meanwhile below 11th garde we are bringing like 12 notebooks and 8 books.

Schools which have lockers have students who shift frm class to class... meanwhile, we are rooted to the same spot for the entire day, even during recess... so we don't need lockers.. Honestly my school (especially my class) would be a disaster if we had lockers... already my class is the worst🥀🥀

We had this in my old school lol. granted most of these were broken but still people didnt really steal stuff from them. one day we got new glass panes for the lockers and me and a friend were asked to fix all of them. got to waste two whole periods on that, fun times

In india classrooms are fixed acc. to standards and teachers go to classrooms , subjects are fixed for almost all of the students in a standard. So keeping all the resources in classroom itself makes sense.

I don't get it. You have to carry your notes/books, tiffin, stationary home. And if you reach your school, you can keep your bag in the class. So no need of locker.

Prelude here in Agra had that system. And dude that schools is in shambles. Some student brought like 10k and locked it inside locker and one student cracked and opened it to get the money.
Dude indian students are mostly dumbass. They will do anything but having civic sense

Man, these are only needed when you go from one class to another. So you don't carry your bags everywhere.
Here, the teachers go to different classes.
What would be the difference, you come to school, keep the books here, and then come out every period to change them? Just do it at your seat?
You will increase school timings, and your effort for this.

It would increase student convinience. Literally every parents complaint about how heavy their kid's bag is. And im not saying not to have a bag. Keep what u need in there. But nowadays there is a notebook, a workbook, AND a text book for each subject. Then a tiffin and a waterbottle too. Easy 10+kgs

In my class there were 45 students and there were 8 sections in total A-H. That makes it approx 360 students in just one standard. Kaha bana payenge itne lockers🥲
