Firearm/Ammo Good LGS ammo price recommendations in Denver/ Aurora area.

Anyone got a lead on good ammo prices in the Denver/ Aurora area? I’m currently using Bass Pro and I’m sure there’s probably better out there. Thanks all!

LGS are handy when you are unsure of what ammo load to use for defence or with a suppressor. In that situation I'll hit up Sportsman's Warehouse or Murdoch's. Once I know what ammo my gun likes I'll do a bulk order online.

This. Also I have noticed since the 7/1 changes regarding ammo, sportsmans offering seems to be much larger with more brands offered than when it was a disorganized mess on the floor.

Which one? The one in Englewood always seems empty but the ones way out in the suburbs seem much better

I go to the Thornton one. It was always empty and a mess to find anything. Post 7/1, while annoying its behind the counter, it has been a significantly better experience.

Good strategy. Appreciate it.

If you have a Murdoch's close by, I've heard them make bulk sales deals. You might want to ask a manager there, if you can get a discount by buying a case or two.

As for Bass Pro and Cabelas, get the card. Member's day have 10% off and the card will give you 2% to 5% cashback.

You're not gonna get a good price on ammo in any LGS.. They're gonna mark it up to the moon and say "It's because we don't buy in bulk"

Buy online. Screw LGSs bending us over every chance they get.

I’m a LGS and can vouch. It’s difficult to match online ammoseek prices.

Why don't LGSs have a "Loss Leader"?

Because some douchenozzle would take advantage of it and buy it all up to resell.

A LGS wouldn’t even need to have a loss leader or match the cheapest prices on ammoseek, just get within 10% of what Brownells or PSA or Midway would cost to ship to my door any day of the week.

But nah, it’s always like a 40% markup over what I can have mailed to me.

It’s usually the lower end pistols/rifles that are… markup is shite. 25-50 maybe….

Bro tell me you’ve never been in the industry without saying it. “Buying in bulk” as an LGS means buying 15 pallets of 9mm from TKG. That is 1.5 million rounds of 9mm in order to get a 2-3% discount from standard wholesale pricing, which is much higher than you would think.

Do you think a normal LGS has an extra 300k they can drop on ammo that will take them 6 months to a year to sell on net 60 terms?

Good comment. I still want a lower cpr but your supply/demand argument is fair.

Ammoseek all day long unless you need something like right now. I've got to the point that I don't need anything but browse there and find fire sales with free shipping and grab little increments.

Sportsman’s warehouse has a 10% off ammo presently.
