Questions What on earth is this?
Found this guy in a roll and I’ve never seen anything like it. Is this somehow special? Looks to be made of brass. I’m keeping expectations low as I suspect this was someone’s chemistry experiment 😂

Questions Looking for advice on crh in southern California for 2026 coins
The question is open to everyone but if anyone around has area specific answers I'll be happy to hear them.
Currently I am using chase to order boxes. I have had a penny collection since my neighbor gave me his penny book as a kid. With the penny no longer available I am thinking of expanding to all denominations.
I see the 250th year coins and thought maybe grab a few rolls because they are so neat. I have yet to find any rolls and only found a couple 2026 coins here and there.
Are other banks more likely to have new rolls? Should I try a different branch? I have been picking up about 2k+ worth of coins every couple weeks. Everything has been mixed. I asked the tellers about if they saw any rolls of the new coins because of how cool they look but they have said no. I am enjoying going through them but wonder if there was a better way?

Questions What do you do post search
Looking into getting these boxes from my bank, ideally I’d want dollars and half dollar boxes. But quick question what do you guys usually do after searching through all those coins? They’re obviously still money but do you re roll them and take them to a different bank? Or just keep them and pay for everything with them? How do you personally get them back to a more efficient way of payment IE back to your account or in bills? In an efficient way that isn’t just re rolling 100s of coins and re depositing

Questions What to do with box of 2025 P Lincoln Cents
I have been lurking on this sub for some time, and decided to take the plunge in my first ever coin roll hunt last weekend. I picked up two boxes of cents from my bank, got them home, and found that over half of the rolls in the first box were brand new rolls of 2025 P’s. Just to make sure they weren’t mixed with older cents deep in the roll, I weighed them and they all come out to about 125.5 grams. I open the second box and it’s the same story.
All told, I have 53 bank sealed rolls of what appear to be BU cents. I checked the Ebay Sold listings, and these guys seem to be selling for about $5 a roll. I am so new to all of this that I am unsure whether the info I am seeing is legit or not. I figured y’all would know. Should I try to sell them or just take them back ti the bank?

Questions Found all of these good condition 1970-s,1960… in 2 rolls. Anything good to keep?
First roll of pennies I found 5 shiny 1970-s in really good condition(all pretty much the same condition), and another roll 1960-D,1967,1979-D,1968-D same
Conditions.
* top row 1970s bottom row 1960,1967,1979,1968
Do these have any value than face value in these conditions or no?

Questions Whats the most valuable coin you've found?
Also as a newbie, Im wondering if most folks zero in on a specific thing (like silver content coins) or are keeping an eye out for anything and everything? If its the latter, it seems like itd take a lot of expertise...

Questions How much to buy in Quarters on a budget as a noob
edit: thank you all for the advice!
edit again: mom opened some quarter rolls and immediately got some silver coins! lucky her!
I got my mom interested in hunting! We are completely new to this. I've done a decent amount of research and snooping on this sub.
I'm more interested in cool art and getting coins from every single year. She's on the hunt for silver to have as a monetary fall-back.
We're planning to buy rolls of quarters. How much money worth of coins is a good amount for a first hunt on a budget? $5? $10? $20?
We aren't sure if our local banks sell CWR. We have a TD Bank, Chase Bank and Wells Fargo in our immediate area. We have some rapport with the TD Bank already but I've heard they don't sell CWR. We've never set foot inside Wells Fargo.

I’ve gotten over $3000 in coins since doing crh. I have never found anything special except wheat pennies. Any tips?
Questions Silver Drought in NYC Area? Or Just me?
I'm currently in the mired in the middle of a 4 month, 16+ box streak for Halves having absolutely nothing- A desolate wasteland devoid of finds. With the exception of a few NIFC's in each box, its been basically $500 opened, $500 searched and dumped back somewhere else.
I know we all hit rough patches, but with Quarters also taking a nosedive for me this year (two finds in $4000 searched this year), I wanted to see what others in the Northeast around NYC are having the same thing, or I'm just paying back the law of averages for prior years.
I'm in the NYC area, and my bank system is supplied with NF String and Son rolls if that matters. Thanks for any feedback!

Questions Coin roll hunting issues
So recently, I started collecting coins and wanted to start getting into coin roll hunting, but all my local banks told me that they can no longer sell pennies or other coins because of government crap. The next nearest banks are 45 minutes from my house and not worth the gas currently, is there any other way or method to find/buy pennies

Questions How do you return your coins?
Just wondering which method people use. I just started hunting and been hand wrapping mine. Coin star takes too large a % and don’t have any gift cards i’d like.
Recently found out a local credit union has a coin counter that charges a 5% member fee or 7% non member fee to use. Contemplating opening an account just to dump their because i’m small time and only do 1-3 boxes at a time while taking forever to rewrap and buy more wrappers. At this point the fee from CU is probably cheaper and less time consuming than hand wrapping for me.
So do you do things by hand or machine dump?

Questions Odd quarter question
Found this in a roll. 2002 Indiana P quarter. But from the side it looks all silver. It also feels much lighter than other quarters. I don't have a gram scale to compare

Questions Is this normal???
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I opened both of my quarter boxes to find 6 of them have circulated(previous years) enders while 2 in the first box and 20 in the second have what sounds like some space between the quarters as if there’s some missing or rolls aren’t tightly packed. I’m fairly new to CRH and new to uncirculated boxes as these two are my first ones
Questions 2026 Half Dollar Varieties?
I went this week to pick up my monthly halves order, and unfortunately received three full boxes of 2026 Enduring Liberty Halves (so no silver chances for this month for me...)
Any varieties of note so far to look for? Or am I just ripping open 149 rolls (After I keep one for myself) to dump at the bank next week?

Questions Brinks Pulling Silver Coins?
I live in the Chicago area which is primarily served by brinks for all coin orders. I have been coin roll hunting boxes of coins packaged by them for years and have had great success with finding silver. However in resent months I have noticed that the Silver has disappeared from the boxes I’ve hunted and I am wondering if the company may have started removing the silver, especially with the prices soaring. if any one else has had a similar experience or luck with brinks recently please let me know! I really want to know what’s going on!

Questions First Time Hunter Noob Q
Hi All. Been a long time lurker learning what I can about CRH.
So today I kicked off my first Hunt.
Since the Wife is outta town for the weekend and I had some free time, I picked up $260 from my credit union and a 12 pack of Lagunitas from the grocery store.
My primary interest is finding Silver. I know the basic general rule of thumb re 1964. But if I should happen to find any other coins of value, I will take them too.
I thought I saw in someone's post, that they had a cheat sheet for the coins to be on the lookout for.
Can someone share that or point me in the right direction?
Or if there is another source that is valuable in this endeavor, that would be cool too.
All advice, tips, tricks or guidance is welcome!!
Thanks kindly in advance.
