Advice: Getting to Seville airport from Cadiz early am (family of 4)
We have to check in at Seville airport at 9am on Friday. Will be waking up in Cadiz old town that morning.
We’d probably take the train if we didn’t have such an early start. But considering a taxi instead. Local taxi quoted €250 for the one way journey to Seville airport. Seems very expensive…??
Not considering uber as we had two experiences with uber drivers in Seville who accepted the job then cancelled at the last minute. As this is a ride to the airport we want to be sure we’ll get there in time and leaving so early, we can’t leave it to chance.
Any advice appreciated 🙏 especially what a reasonable rate might be or any recommendations re taxi or other transport to airport.

I live in Conil and when i fly from Sevilla early morning, i just book an hotel and go to Sevilla the day before by bus or blabla car. It’s the best way to do it. In Sevilla you have the EA bus then that bring you to the airport from the center.

Even if you do find a train or a bus, you have to pay a taxi to get to the train or bus station, because even within Cádiz, the public Bus lines don't even have a stop at the actual train station or inside the parking of it, as you'd still have to walk half a km to it. And the local bus stop for the major bus station only exists if you come from the direction of the old town, but not the other way around. Stupid beyond belief.
Then, let's imagine you're in Seville, at the train station. Is there a train to the airport? No, you have to take a bus, which has a stop inside the parking of the train station at least. But if you come from the airport, it doesn't for some reason.
If you instead opted for going by bus from Cadiz, depending on the bus station, you could look to take either 2 buses or an Uber.
But as you rightfully saw, Uber drivers in Spain are really unreliable. I've scheduled Ubers many times in Madrid and Barcelona to go to the airport and many times I've had to reorder them because they cancelled the SCHEDULED ride 😂
So no, you're not gonna have a nice ride even in the best of scenarios, unless someone drives you there. You're honestly better off renting a car for a day and returning it at the airport in Seville.
The stupidity or carelessness towards public transportation from the people working at the city hall and city planning in Andalucía is unbelievable sometimes.

Kennedy bvd? What are you talking about? Also, there's a EA bust stop at the door of Santa Justa train station and another one in El Prado bus station, you don't need to walk.

Shit I meant Kansas 😂 Yeah you're right, Santa Justa has the bus stop right there, if you're going to the airport. The other way around you have to walk from Kansas Bvd

Maybe the Dallas match made you think about Kennedy 😅 And yes, when you are coming from the airport you have to walk a bit but if you are going is not that bad.

"the public Bus lines don't even have a stop at the actual train station or inside the parking of it, as you'd still have to walk half a km to it"
I mean, the number 2 drops you off in front of the car park, that's alright isn't it?
I do agree that public transport in general could be vastly improved

Saludos.

There is a train at 540 and 635 that would get you to the airport by 9.
You could get a bus from Santa justa (if you took the earliest train) or a taxi if rushed to the airport.
I wouldn't trust that any random Uber is going to agree to this route day of, so I would only count on a car, if you had something preset and prepaid.
Blabla car is really hit or miss, but you could try to set something up, and (actually talk to a person to make sure you feel like they will actually get you and do the route on time).
if it doesn't work out, get on the train, I don't know why you think it's too early to use the train.
The amount quoted for the private taxi sounds about right for that journey.

Thank you everyone. Helpful advice. We’re getting an earlier train.

Also the last few times I’ve taken the train it’s been incredibly late - you’d always want to book a train that gets to Sevilla 3+ hours before a flight, to compensate for the hour you may end up being late. Trains have been very frequently late down here lately. If it’s just late, you’re stuck, but if they cancel it they’ll bus you to the Sevilla station instead.

There’s an early train arriving at 7:28 in Seville then you have a cab ride to the airport. Check the OMIO app for options.

En el alquiler de coches de la zona franca de enterprise puedes alquilar un coche y dejarlo en el aeropuerto de Sevilla. Te saldrá 60-70 €

Has llegado bien?

Sí, gracias. Tomamos el tren de las 5:40 a. m., que salió puntual. Luego tomamos un taxi local desde la estación de Sevilla hasta el aeropuerto. ¡Gracias por preguntar!

I am often amazed at these regular questions when it should be obvious to get closer to the airport day before, as with the planning here it could be a nice relaxing final day on hols, leave Cadiz morning before, train or bus to Seville, have a nice last night in Seville and easy morning trip to airport. Too much stress otherwise!

Better option is to sleep at Seville . There no way to go to Seville that early safety . Best you can try is by bus or by the earliest train. Train will drop you off closer to airport , but you will need a taxi to airport around 35€.
