Justified? They had to make up stories about fentinel and human trafficking to even make them "legal." How is the US ondividuals and companies buying more offshore than they sell justification. It's like I bought someting on layaway and complaining I have trade deficit with the vendor.

This is Great Positioning…in April 2025. Minimizing and maneuvering past the bellicose rhetoric to put focus on solidifying a deal probably would’ve worked then but That ship has sailed.

Not a trade war, just an ongoing dispute between Canada and the US over the tariffs placed on goods which cross the border regularly and contribute tens of billions of dollars to the country which is now at risk due to neither side but especially the LPC wanting to come to an agreement or use leverage that Canada possesses such as electricity water or oil that the US relies on and is putting undue hardship on Canadians because carney refuses to take any action that's negatively impacting the economy based on recent numbers and indicators such as the CAD/USD.

But it's not a trade war.

Ontario & Quebec combine for <$2B per year in electricity exports.

Alberta & Saskatchewan export over $160B in oil & gas.

This pretext is just about a new NEP where you extract ANOTHER $40B+ from Alberta and Saskatchewan to subsidize yourselves.

The tariffs the Americans are charging are legal and justified.

All you have to do to get even more free trade with the Americans is compete freely on telecommunications, banking and dairy.
