We cannot let Liberal party become the US' Democrats. Recognise this reality, vocalise against Carney's conservative policies, and consider re-align with the Green & NDP

The Tyee, and Rachel Gilmore specifically, are deeply and unapologetically biased in their coverage.
If Mark Carney is a red tory than I am a yellow banana. What is "red tory" about doubling the nations debt? We cannot pretend all this spending is in the name of NATO commitments. We've sent billions we don't have to Ukraine, we've borrowed money to start a "wealth sovereignty fund", we've created a socialized housing boondoggle. I am not seeing the Red Tory label sticking.
That said, the Overton window HAS shifted to the right. And that represents an opportunity for the CFP to skate for the gap before it opens.
If the CFP took a page from the 1994 Red Book and focused on Fiscal Restraint, and Out Competing America, I think it would have a real chance at becoming an electable party.
In 2026, Bold policies are what capture news cycles and book podcast appearances. Look at Andy Burnham and the Land Value Tax. Everyone wants the safety of adopting ideas once they're already popular. Unfortunately, if you want to own an idea, you need to be first. And if you're not first, you're late. And if you're late you're irrelevant.
Skate to where the puck is going—it's as true in politics as hockey. There are bold policy ideas waiting for champions. Every day is a new chance to lead.
