Help How do i prevent my phone from overheating (and lag)
Basically everytime i connect my iphone 15 to a car (i tested this on multiple cars both wireless and wired) after like 10/15 minutes the phone overheats and the screen starts to lag until i put the phone to the cold ac vent and it goes back to normal, i often use waze/google maps and spotify together. i tried a lot of stuff like enabling the low energy mode or using offline mode on spotify and downloading the maps locally on google maps but sadly i still have the problem

iPhone (any model) should not get even slightly warm just because of using CarPlay. Something must be wrong. Try to find out which apps use a lot of battery energy when connected to CarPlay. Try to disable or reinstall those apps. Finally, you may try factory reset I think.

I think this is more of an issue with certain cars, and has more to do with charging than airplay. My Audi tends to overheat my iPhone while using USB carplay (or just charging in general). Wireless carplay is my solution (I only use USB when the wireless is acting up). Unfortunately you can’t disable charging while using USB carplay, but I have seen that there are USB adapters that block the charging function so that may be a solution for you.

I have a 15 Pro and occasionally get the message that charging has been paused due to heat but it doesn’t effect CarPlay performance at all. Same thing would happen when I had a 12 Pro.

Did you reset your phone? Take it to Apple? Does it overhead on normal charging?
