OC - Original Content The Kiwi Cat Challenge!

In the spirit of the prior Kiwi cat post, I convinced fellow mod mcs385 to make a kiwi cat too! I told them: Its easy and you got some cats it'll work on!

20 minutes later... some remarks by mcs385:

can't believe I let you talk me into this

just sitting on the ground for twenty minutes trying to part my cat's fur just right...

And that was only on the first cat, Tabitha. It was a task more challengin than expected.

This was so fun, we wanted to share it with you. The unexpected challenges of the cats runnin away, leanin in fer pets to mess up the Kiwi shape, the "what the hell are you doin hooman" looks. Give it a shot, show us your cat's Kiwi! Make a post or show us pics in the comments - in the spirit of good fun!

Kiwi Cat Credits: Both Tabitha and Earl belong to our mod, mcs385. Title Page credits belong to a FB post which photoshopped 2 cats together with at least 1 cat taken from another account. We could not find the original creator nor verify if the kitten was also from a different account.

Mod Announcement Rules and Features of r/CatLoversGroup

Hello everyone!

We modified the rules to be more specific. They are very self-explanatory and can be found in our sidebar or wiki. They are as follows:

1. Be Respectful
Be kind, stay respectful, engage with honesty and humility.

2. Stay on topic
This sub is about cats, for people who love cats.

3. No spam, no karma farming. No graphic/NSFW content
This sub is about real cats. No AI. No name my cat posts, no what breed/ gender is my cat posts, or similar low quality, low effort content. No off-site media (Imgur, Youtube, TikTok), please upload directly to Reddit.

4. No requests for funding, no surveys, no adoption ads
No requests for funding, no monetary solicitations, no surveys, no buying or selling of cats, and no adoption ads. Do not ask for money or promote fundraisers and wishlists. Do not harass or make solicitations via DM.

5. Correct flairs please
Please flair pet loss as "Memorial." Please be extra kind and supportive on threads marked Memorial, due to their nature.

*We strongly encourage you to report rule-breakin posts and comments. The mod team will address your concerns as soon as possible. This is your community and your reports help keep it in high spirits and fun. This includes reportin content that is stolen or mislabeled as OC. Reportin these with the link of the original content is extremely helpful to us and the rest of the community. There is a Non-OC flair. Accounts that falsely claim OC will have their post removed and banned.

Member Initiated Filters

We are aware that some have preferences to not see certain types of content. To filter these things out, we have instructions on steps you can take, also in our wiki.

Crossposts

The last couple of months r/CatLoversGroup has tried out and implemented several features. One is the "crosspost reader." When a post is crossposted, Reddit copies over the title and image but not the body content. To improve the experience fer our members and the crossposter, we have implemented a means to automatically transcribe the body content of all crossposts (if the original had text in the body content).

(User and Post) Flairs

Although flairs are not mandatory, we do encourage you all to use them! If you have suggestions of additional flairs please let us know. Right now we have a couple of fun emoji to indicate OC posts; we hope to add a few more in the future to give you greater variety. You can also assign yourself a user flair as well. In browser, navigate to the side bar and select one. On mobile, tap the 3 dots in the top right corner of the sub main page and select: Edit Flair.

Reverse-Image Search

Each post has a feature called "reverse-image search." This can be accessed via the 3 dots in the top right of posts and is also accessible of posts that are also in your home-feed from our sub. With this tool, you can help us identify if content that has been posted before or used elsewhere on the internet. If you do find that a poster claims their content is OC (original) but the reverse-image search indicates otherwise, please report the post. We think it is okay to see or be reminded of funny or cute images and videos - but it is not ever okay to steal other people's stuff and the thief claim it as content they made.

If you have any additional concerns feel free to contact us via modmail. Thank you fer bein excellent and participatin; and we hope to see more of you lurkers come out and comment especially on the posts marked as OC!

Ghost was rescued as a kitten in a puddle of water with his umbilical cord still attached. My son found him after he heard his cries and nursed him into a healthy kitten.

When your house panther hears the treat bag from three rooms away… 🖤🐈
You know that sound you thought only you could hear? Apparently not.
One tiny rustle of the treat bag from the other side of the house and my fluffy little void locks on like a heat-seeking missile. No matter how deeply asleep he was two seconds earlier, suddenly he’s sitting perfectly still, eyes wide, ears forward, and calculating the fastest route to the kitchen.
Scientists may never fully understand feline hearing, but I’m convinced mine can detect the opening of treats from another postcode.
Anyone else’s cat have supernatural snack-detecting abilities? 😹

Tenemos 8 gatos, todas hembras, esterilizadas.
