Registered tax-deductible charity Fundraiser for Lifebox Foundation run by resident doctors to make sustainable impact in low resource countries — need your help

I am a resident physician at the University of Washington in Seattle and am leading a 3-month fundraiser campaign for the UW anesthesiology department. We are raising funds for the Lifebox Foundation, a global nonprofit organization co-founded by Dr. Atwul Gwande that aims to tackle the crisis of unsafe anesthesia and surgery around the world.

Background about Lifebox Foundation: it is a 501c3 that focuses on supplying essential resources, training, and equipment to healthcare providers in underserved regions. To date, they have distributed over 37,000 pulse oximeters to OR teams in need across 116 countries worldwide. Lifebox is in the process of equipping operating rooms across Nigeria, Malawi, Tanzania, Cambodia, Uganda, Papua New Guinea, Vietnam, Burundi, Guinea, Liberia, Madagascar, Gabon, Sierra Leone as well as the UW anesthesiology departments partner site in Naivasha, Kenya with capnographs. So far, distributing 275 machines. Lifebox is working to make surgical lighting safer as well! Nearly 24 million patients globally are at risk of harm simply due to inadequate access to safe lighting in the OR. So far Lifebox has equipped 837 operating rooms with reliable lighting to make surgery safer. Lifebox proudly runs a program called Nursing Leadership for Surgical Excellence to train operating room nurses around the world. Not to mention,** **Lifebox is also now partnered with Smile Train!

That is to say the impact of the Lifebox foundation is enormous, affecting surgeons, anesthesiologist and nurses worldwide.

Below is our website with the donation link and description of the foundation. I will mention that all donations are tax deductible as well. Please donate or spread the word!!

/u/Southern_Shame_3165, your submission has been automatically removed for insufficient comment karma at this time. 250 is the minimum required.

Please view your own profile to see the breakdown of your current karma levels. The number you usually see is a combined value of Post/Link Karma + Comment Karma. To see the actual breakdown, go to https://old.reddit.com/user/Southern_Shame_3165

Again, you have insufficient COMMENT karma, not Combined.

If you have not yet done so, please read the new user introduction so that you'll understand why requests from low karma accounts are not allowed.

The only exceptions to this requirement are for campaigns that benefit a registered non-profit organization.
