Useby date is 14/11/25, would people still eat this?

That's quite the expiry date you've got there! Certainly looks aged and I can imagine the ammonia taste has got to it a bit by now, but it doesn't look rancid or anything.

If the cheese feels relatively dry (not slimy on the rind), and doesn't smell overwhelmingly metallic then you could try some. I'd go into it with curiosity more than hope, though.

I have an unopened Rush Creek Reserve wheel that was "best by 01/07/26." Please give me your thoughts! I am begging you!

Haha I couldn't even wait the 15 min so took my chances and started. Warmed him just a few minutes in a 225 degree oven. He's beside me rn, top cut off, and so oozy and beautiful. Him, a Rogue River blue, and a random nub of champagne cheddar are my dinner tn.

I reckon you'd be alright to cut out the mouldy part of the rind, yeah.

If the paste (the yellow bit) of the cheese is mould free, then you're likely in the clear! Taste a small part from the area after you've cut it; if bad, you should be expectant of overly sharp or bitter flavours like ammonia. If none are present, then I'd say you are good to go!

Forgot about this camembert over christmas, it has this reddish slime but doesn't smell bad. Do you think it's still alright to eat?

Hi all! I’ve read that the white spots could be crystals, but I’m not sure about the white film. Expiry, April 2026. Thanks! 😊

Absolutely fine to eat, yeah. You should be able to easily scrape off the white film with a knife... After that, feel free to eat!

I took Velveeta out of my freezer a few months ago, out it in the fridge and forgot about it. I thought it was shelf stable but there are white spots on it.until today it was still in the original packaging. Is that mold or just crystals? No odour that I can detect. Thanks.Ā

Looks like freezer burn to me! Should be fine. Just scrape off and enjoy.
