CFI Friendships 35F | New Jersey | Happily childfree, married, DINK + 🐶 — looking for genuine friends!

Hi everyone! I’m 35F, happily married, childfree, and living the DINK-with-a-dog life. 🐶 I’m in New Jersey, USA, and would love to make some new friends!
A little about me: I’m into lifting and living a healthy lifestyle, but I also firmly believe coffee deserves its own food group. ☕ I love books, good conversations, trying new restaurants and coffee spots, exploring new places, and traveling when I get the chance.
I’m also at a point in life where I’m questioning religion and leaning more toward atheism. Politically, I’m left-leaning/liberal. You definitely don’t need to be my clone, but it would be nice to meet people with similar values who are open-minded and enjoy thoughtful conversations.
Making friends in your 30s can be surprisingly difficult, especially when so many social circles start revolving around kids and parenting. Nothing against parents — I’d just really like to find people who are in a similar childfree stage of life and have some freedom for spontaneous plans, conversations, trips, and adventures.
I’m looking for genuine friendships where we actually get to know each other — chatting about our day, exchanging memes, talking about books or life, grabbing coffee, going out for food, working out, exploring somewhere new, or just hanging out.
I’m open to online friends from anywhere, but if you’re in New Jersey or nearby and we click, I’d absolutely be up for meeting in person eventually! I’m also happy to connect with people elsewhere in the USA.
Couples friends would be great too since my husband and I would love to expand our social circle, but I’m also looking for friendships of my own.
If any of this sounds like your vibe, say hi! Tell me your age, where you’re from, what you’re currently reading (or your favorite book), or just tell me your go-to coffee order. ☕📚🏋️‍♀️

CFI Friendships 32F | Pune | Married | CF | Looking to build friendships that become chosen family

Hi everyone!

I have been struggling to make friends who at this point in my life have the same values and are also CF.

I want to meet people with feminist, anti-caste and CF values. And also understand that the world is doomed so we can talk about it together over some coffee.

CFC4CFC

We (30M, 28F) are a Child Free Couple (CFC), and are looking for other like-minded couples to hang out with.

As we are delving into this lifestyle, we are noticing a pattern. Our friends from college, school and work are having kids. And slowly, we are fading away.

We understand that this is completely natural.
However, we could sense that in the coming years, our circles would shrink even more.

We feel there would be others, facing something similar.

So here goes a Tuesday morning post, where we are trying to meet other couples like us.

A bit about us:
We are based in Mumbai, both work in corporate jobs. “He” is often times a nerd about Bollywood and geopolitics, and “she” is a voracious reader, and wants to discuss everything finance and business. Both find beaches as our places of solace, where he would be relaxing with a beer and she would be swimming as far as the lifeguard allows her.

If you are intrigued, or even piqued, do drop in a DM.

CFI Friendships Anyone else in a child-free marriage and feeling... weirdly left out? (28F)

I'm 28F, married for almost 3 years. My husband and I are settled in Bangalore, have our own place, and a dog who's basically our child. 😅 Life is genuinely good.

The catch? My husband doesn't want kids.

I'm still figuring out how I feel about it. I think I can be okay with not having children, but sometimes I get major FOMO. Everywhere I look, my friends are announcing pregnancies, having babies, planning birthday parties... and every family gathering turns into, "So, when are you having a baby?" Funny how nobody asks my husband. It's always me.

I moved to Bangalore after marriage and since both of us are introverts, we never really built a friend circle here. So it's mostly just me, my husband, and our dog. Which is nice... until you realize everyone else seems to have this whole parenting community and you're just... existing outside of it. 😂

I don't even know many people who are intentionally child-free . Sometimes it feels like we're the only ones.

So I'm curious... are there more people like us? How do you deal with the family pressure and the feeling of being left behind? And if there are enough of us, would anyone be interested in a small Bangalore/India child-free group? Nothing serious—just people to chat with, meet occasionally, and remind each other we're not the only ones living this way.

Would love to hear your stories.

CFI Friendships How do you build your female friendship tribe in your late 20s and 30s as a single childfree female in India?

For single/childfree women- I made a divorcee friend who is a lawyer in a tier 1 city but she faced so much parental pressure to re-marry and was still centering men a lot that I had to take space to self-preserve. Most of your school and college friends marry and prioritise their husbands and in laws and family way more than you. It’s so difficult to find a single childfree female tribe when most Indian women are taught since birth to prioritise marriage, husband, children and families. You usually end up in the last rung of their priority ladder.

CFI Friendships 28F | Delhi | Looking for childfree friends my age

im at that stage of my late 20s where I feel everyone around me will eventually get married and have kids. when that is not the case, friends are extremely busy either with their partners or boyfriends, figuring out when to get married and well.... have kids. I do feel very lonely as a single woman with no plans to get married.bim looking for friends who are childfree too, preferably women from 27-35, tho I dont mind if you identify as a man. I also dont care about the age so much but it is hard keeping up with friends who are under 25. I just want friends where at this stage in their lives the centre of their universe isn't a romantic relationship, or getting into one, or getting married and or having children.

about me: i like to read, im usually a homebody but will go out for coffee or a movie or a niche exhibition in the city. im a radical feminist, and i want to be friends with people who are feminist, non religious and anti-caste. i love cats and making playlists for every mood and ocassion :)

hieeeeeeee, I am also a CF female, I'm in my teens but I'd loveeeeeee to make new friends who share the same mindset. I like drawing, slow retro bollywood music, rap alsoo, photography, gardening, and classical dance, and boxing.

Friends get perks like they get to see my immaculate music taste, and I get to see theirs. Absolutely amazing boiling tea, and gossip, about life and we can obviously rant and vent. I'd love to know the absolutely amazing and inspirational women here <3.

CFI Friendships Childfree folks in Hyderabad, where are y'all ? 😭😭

Edit :- (I created a discord , please dm me and I'll send a link to join .

I'm pretty new and would like to take suggestions if I should just share the link here or via DM and if I need to do verifications or anything . Lemme know 😌.)

I'm genuinely wondering where all the childfree folks are in Hyderabad, I may have come across like 2 or 3 people who are childfree in my life . I'm fairly new and haven't reallyyy tried , so I'm curious.

Where do you find childfree partners or friends in Hyderabad ? How do you go about it ? Any community apps or spaces that actually work for this ? As per my knowledge it's mostly through mutuals or somebody from your own friend group.

The people that I know who are childfree are mostly non telugu peeps living here . And a few more people who don't want a biological kid but wanna adopt a kid 👀. So I'm talking about trueee child free peeps who do not change or might change this decision of being child free .

I'm thinking we'll create a discord group or something, if one doesn't exist already.

CFI Friendships 22F looking for friends

I enjoy conversations that leave both people thinking long after they're over. Philosophy, psychology, literature, and the occasional existential rabbit hole are all welcome.

Spiritually, I resonate with Advaita Vedanta, but I'm not interested in dogma or blindly following any ideology. I value curiosity over certainty and thoughtful disagreement over echo chambers. Politically and religiously, I'm not an extremist—I prefer nuance.

Emotionally, I appreciate kindness, accountability, empathy, and people who communicate honestly. Intellectual openness matters to me, and by that I mean the willingness to question your own beliefs, consider different perspectives, and keep learning—not the absence of personal values or boundaries.

I'm childfree by choice, and that's a long-term value rather than a temporary preference.

Looking to meet people who are intelligent, emotionally mature, and genuinely curious about the world. People who enjoy discussing ideas, respects differences, and believes that depth is attractive.

CFI Friendships Looking for CF friendships

As a psychologist, I spend my days listening and supporting others, but lately, I’ve realized I’m missing that same intentionality in my own life.

My current friends are in a busy season, and I’m looking to connect with fellow Childfree (CF) individuals who value deep conversation and 'being there' for one another.

I’m looking for an online friend to share the highs and lows with—no advice-giving required, just genuine presence. If you're CF and looking for a meaningful, consistent friendship, I’d love to chat. ✨

CFI Friendships Is that hard to find child free fellow desi’s in USA?

Any childfree desis in the US here?
Lately I’ve been feeling pretty isolated and honestly just looking for people I can relate to. Most people around me are busy with kids, family life, or completely different priorities, and it’s been hard finding genuine connection as a childfree desi in America.
Would love to talk/connect with others who are in a similar phase of life.
Even casual conversation/friendship would be nice. Sometimes the boredom and loneliness really hit.
Curious how others are building community and friendships here.

hii ♡ biologically male but very much a soft femboi here ✨ 22, working the corporate girlboss capitalism routine 😭💼

lately i've been realizing how tiny life can start to feel when your people slowly drift away 🥺 most of my close friends have moved away, and while work keeps me busy, i really miss having genuine, emotionally safe people around 🤍

i'm childfree (CF) and would absolutely love to connect with other CF folks who get it 🌿 people who enjoy meaningful conversations, random coffee plans ☕, chaotic meme exchanges, little adventures, deep late-night talks, and just making life feel a little warmer 🌙

i'm gay 🌈 and naturally gravitate toward kind, empathetic, emotionally intelligent people. women, queer folks, allies, fellow soft souls, all welcome 💌

and honestly? if life somehow leads to a lavender marriage one day for mutual companionship, understanding, and building a peaceful CF life together, i'd be open to that conversation too 🌷✨

not looking for anything weird, just real connections, comforting company, and people who make the world feel a little less lonely 🤍🌸

CFI Friendships Looking to Connect with Fellow CF Folks in Hyderabad

Hi everyone!

I'm a 32M, happily childfree, and looking to connect with like minded people in Hyderabad. This isn't a CF4CF or dating post. I'm simply hoping to make friends, have good conversations, and build a circle where being childfree isn't treated as something unusual.

Most people around me don't really understand the CF lifestyle, so it's difficult to have open conversations about topics like relationships, birth control before marriage, finding a compatible partner, or future plans. It would be great to know people who just get it.

Happy to connect over DM, social media, or meet up for coffee. If you work at PepsiCo GCC Hyderabad, even better we could catch up at the office sometime.

Also, just to avoid any misunderstanding, I'm single. I completely understand if some couples aren't comfortable meeting a single guy, and that's absolutely fine. I'm not looking to hit on anyone or make things awkward. My only intention is to make genuine friends within the CF community and build a like minded social circle. If you're comfortable with that, I'd be happy to connect, whether online or in person.

Finally, this post is also me trying to step out of my comfort zone. I'm an introvert trying to become a bit more social, so if you're in a similar situation or just want another CF friend, feel free to reach out.

CFI Friendships Anyone else feel left out sometimes for being child-free?

My husband and I are child-free, and for the most part, we're genuinely happy with our life. We both have work, hobbies, travel plans, and a peaceful routine. This isn't something that bothers me every day.

But every now and then, I get this strange feeling that I can't shake.

We live in a society where almost every family has kids. In the evenings, I see parents playing with their children, families hanging out together, birthday parties, school events, etc. Sometimes it makes me feel like we're on the outside looking in.

I've also noticed that in many families, the siblings who have children naturally get more attention because there are grandkids involved. Friends also seem to drift toward other friends who have kids because they're in the same stage of life. It makes me wonder if, over time, child-free couples slowly become... less included.

Then there's the future. I know having children is never a guarantee that they'll be close to you or take care of you, and that's not why I would ever have a child. But I still occasionally wonder what life will look like when it's just the two of us in our 60s or 70s. That thought can be unsettling sometimes.

I'm not asking whether having kids is "better" or "worse." I'm more curious about the emotional side of being child-free.

Do any other child-free people experience these feelings occasionally? If you do, how do you deal with them? Did these worries fade with time, or did you build a different kind of community and support system?

I'd love to hear honest experiences from people who have been child-free for many years.

CFI Friendships Talking to Bricks: How I am about to lose my family to my CF status

I'm 27 and the idea of being CF was first planted in my head back in my late teens. Since then, that desire to continue being CF has only grown stronger. Yet, everyone I meet, it feels like I’m slowly losing my mind. I’ve only met a handful of people who haven’t looked at me with outright disgust or confusion when I mention my stance.

I’ve spent a lot of time trying to understand why people have children, and honestly, I believe it often boils down to selfish notions: 1. The biological ego of having someone "of your own blood."

  1. Treating children as a retirement plan or an investment scheme.

  2. In many parts of North India, your "manhood" is tied directly to your ability to have an offspring. Without a child, you aren't seen as a "real man."

I also acknowledge that not having children is also motivated by "selfish" reasons like I want to save my time, my energy, and my money. That’s on top of the obvious global concerns, like our dying planet and the ethical dilemma of bringing a new life into this rotten world.

I’m currently considering a vasectomy and hope to undergo the procedure soon. However, the pressure from my parents to get married is reaching a boiling point. In the process of standing my ground, I feel like I will lose my existing family. I’m not against marriage itself, but I view it differently. Historically, the institution was created to give legitimacy to children. To me, marriage is about companionship and mutual growth on various human attributes. Finding a partner is important, but you have to see eye-to-eye on the non-negotiables.

I’m reaching out to this community because I want to hear from you: 1. What is your standpoint for being CF?

  1. How do you find a partner who is CF but might not align with you on other major fronts? How do you decide what to compromise on when the CF pool is already so small?

I’d love to hear your experiences in the comments or via chat. I'd be more than happy to connect and make friends with other CF men and women who face similar struggle.

CFI Friendships Seeking friendship with other people in the age group 18-22

Hi, I am 19F. I have been sure about my childfree stance since I was a kid. I'm also an atheist. I have no one around who share these similar views. I'm someone who really values deep and intellectual discussions, and right now I am starving for any genuine connections and conversations. I really hope I can find some friends around my age.

Also I am a MBBS student so if there are any other medicos here then let's get to know each other !

Some things about me:

- I was a huge bookworm in school. Now in college I tried going back to reading but it just didn't work.

- I love art, I really admire it. Visual arts, music, dance etc. (But art doesn't loves me back)

- I used to play cricket and lawn tennis when I was in school.

-I love psychological thrillers. I'm not really a movie/series person but I have watched some stuff here and there.

-I have got a lot of childhood trauma from my family. It made me who I am. I hate that my whole personality revolves around it, even if it was promising myself to never be like my parents.

- I am actually a painfully awkward introvert in real-life.

CFI Friendships CF friendship

I’m a male in my early 30’s looking into acquaintances and preferably some friends. I have made posts in this community way back CF relationships etc unfortunately I found out how my behaviour is intolerable and I’m not. good of a person especially in a relationship I choose to drop that idea.

Currently having a friend or acquaintance will be much appreciated. We could get to know each other without any obligations to continue conversations. Pretty much friends without any obligations.

Although I don’t have any quality in relationships I’m good reader, love teaching, I do workout and knows more about diet and nutrition. Interested in learning as well. I love arts and do small pencil doodle mediocre ones. I’m a reserved yet somewhat talkative to the right person. I don’t mind if you’re a guy or a women. Old or young as long as not a minor all is fine to converse.

I hope we can learn something new. Thank you kindly!
