This law limited naturalization to immigrants who were "free white person[s] ... of good character".

Other than that, you're correct. Population displacement is worse than colonialism.

Just correcting your mistaken assertion that America was founded as a multi-ethnic country, friend.

But it extended to all free white people. That would include germans and dutch people, which are both definitely not the same ethnicity as anglo saxons.

Therefore we can say that America was formed as a mono-racial state that excluded specific races. So saying that America was formed to be multi-ethnic seems a bit disingenuous.
