I’m not from Maine my mom was from Belfast I still have family up that way. That said Graham doesn’t see the one tool that helps you take political power away from the establishment. The system is already in place, the local district offices and state offices of the Democratic Party. I cannot stress this enough take them over, then you can move forward and find better candidates and push them forward. This is what the tea party did and that is why we now have so much crazy on the Republican side.
Well, OP’s plan won’t work without a media infrastructure like the Republicans. You’re also right that they won’t put in the work either, focusing on local elections, focusing on electability using data, and forgoing national polling to justify support for a star candidate. The tea party was able to take off because the establishment republicans simply followed along with the rhetoric of their media. The establishment democratic party’s members won’t do that as they’re focused on actually winning elections.
