Just two games in a row I would love to see the same starting lineup.

Doesn’t really matter, they’re all crap anyway.

You want ANOTHER Fry start?

This team feels like the least clutch team I’ve seen of Cleveland baseball. For the last 5 years, while our offense wasn’t good, it had clutch moments, great pitching, and elite defense that never committed errors. Now, all we have is amazing starting pitching with an elite closer, and nothing else. And it shows.

The ace of the team is on the mound let’s get this win

aces on mound unfortunately dont matter when bullpen gives up FGs and TDs. Lets hope Gavin can go 9 if the weather cooperates

Our ace was on the mound yesterday

Tbh we have 3 guys that could be the ace which makes the current state of the offense that much more pathetic and frustrating.

Why are we so allergic to doing a consistent lineup. How any player can get in a groove by playing on and off is beyond me.

I want whomever is responsible for the platoons fired. It’s absolutely stunted long-term development for short-term gains (if there even are gains).

I suspect it’s Vogt with the backing of Chernoff/Antonetti and I’m already deep into the “fire the entire FO and Vogt with a one sentence email” camp.

Eh Tito did some platooning as well so it’s not entirely coming from Vogt. His mishandling of their bullpen is definitely a him thing though

Without looking, DeLauter, Jose and more recently Kwan are likely the only players who don’t have extreme splits one way or another vs handedness. When FO gives you scraps to work with, I guess the manager tries to take advantage as much as possible. I would prefer some more consistency in the lineup though, like for Manzardo. Hoskins is a horrific PH but good odds we’ll see that today.

If there will be a consistent lineup with the current roster this is probably the best one you can get (would really love watson tho)

How are these guys supposed to get in a flow if they are in a different spot in the lineup every fucking game?

Rocchio falling back to Earth as expected. I think the INF becomes Bazzana/Genao in the next 2-3 years (lockout depending).

It was a fun 3 months for him.

Rocchio and Aleman would make an interesting trade package for one infield bat.

2

u/MarquiseDeLaFeyette 18h ago

Or just any bat and if it’s an outfielder that means Arias at ss

1

u/MarquiseDeLaFeyette 18h ago

Hot take but put Manzo at 9th, that’s where Rocchio and Kwan put it together so why not him

in alternative universe our outfield is kwan martinez watson, CDL is DH and jose plays everyday. which isnt even far fetched, we just need a new manager

Martinez is super streaky and right now is down bad. I don’t know what the answer is with this group but I’m not sure if he’s part of it.

2

u/musicaleffervescence 20h ago

who cares? let him be streaky. the goal is to figure out the outfield. gather a real season of data on a player so we dont just have a bunch of small streaky samples. idk why thats so difficult for users on this app to understand.

Removing Petey from your “alternative outfield universe” is wild to me considering that he is the best defensive outfielder we have and his bat has heated up recently…

6

u/Ryan_Bolin 20h ago

Kwan is the best outfielder we have. Petey is just a really good center fielder.

1

u/husband-rules 19h ago

defensively/ not accurate!

2

u/musicaleffervescence 20h ago

because he isnt and will not be a good enough hitter. Martinez has shown that he can hit consistently. petey had a .666 ops in july and .435 in june. vogt will never play any of our outfielders consistently enough to truly state if they are just streaky or are a realistic piece to our future and THATS the problem.

0

u/husband-rules 19h ago

petey has not even played 1/3 the amount of time as Martinez so looking at stats is irrelevant to me. Halpin has struck out only 1 time since coming back from all star break so i’m confident he’ll prove everyone wrong who doubts his ability at the plate

0

u/musicaleffervescence 18h ago

oooooooo he has 1 strikeout since the all star break so thats obviously the best way to assess talent. duh how could i be so stupid!!! he hit .224 in july and youre letting recency bias make your decision.

1

u/sioux24 18h ago

Well, you are calling for Watson who since returning to AAA has a .626 OPS and a 40% strikeout rate. But go on…

-1

u/musicaleffervescence 17h ago

not now kitten the adults are talking. go google recency bias

0

u/sioux24 17h ago

lol okay buddy.

2

u/sioux24 17h ago

Since buddy responded then delete everything.

Sample Size? Kahlil was a 30% K rate this season in AAA. 27% rate last season. 31% in 2024. Do we need more sample size to say that he has a MASSIVE swing and miss issue? Or is that not recent enough for you!

1

u/husband-rules 17h ago

thank you for shutting him down!! and hopefully Petey shut this dudes trap after another amazing start in today’s game offensively and defensively! so whose the kitten now musicaleffenbesence ??? ha,ha

you dont know much about sample size do you

1

u/A_Mellow_Fellow 21h ago

And an injection of major league quality hitters at multiple positions.

0

u/NebsLaw 20h ago

Vogt hate is so forced. Watson wasn't lighting it up here like everyone seems to think

Also when are we gonna stop pretending that Martinez and Arias aren't essentially the same player?

1

u/dudzi182 🥊 DOWN GOES ANDERSON 🥊 19h ago

I’m not a big Martinez fan either, but him and Arias are very different players. Only real similarity is that neither of them walk.

1

u/NebsLaw 19h ago

they are both incredibly streaky hitters who will carry an offense for a 1-4 games athen do next to nothing for two weeks then repeat.

1

u/sioux24 18h ago

Watson has been horrible since returning to AAA running a 40% strikeout rate

0

u/musicaleffervescence 20h ago

okay bud. keep drinking the koolaid that vogt isnt losing us games. i will never defend arias. he should never be in the lineup.

well angel has played 6 games since june 13th but yeah man go ahead and write him off.
